"The staff is amazing, this was our first visit to México City, as much as we prepared and planned we still had questions. The staff was great at making suggestions and finding solutions to all of our needs."

"Upon arriving at Barcelo, I was initially impressed with the hotel and the beautiful decor however, my disappointment started upon checking into my room. I had requested a single king bed for my boyfriend and I but was greeted with 2 double beds after entering the room. When I enquired about this, I was told that those rooms were completely booked. I found it distasteful that the check-in attendant didn’t at least make this clear to us during the check-in process, as if we were expected to take whatever was given to us. We should not have had to compromise our request because the hotel overbooked. However, we decided not to fight the matter since we were very tired from traveling. Further, as black travelers, we are often concerned about racism when visiting new places, for our safety. We’ve been to a few countries and had different experiences but felt as though at Barcelo we were provided with an obvious difference in treatment when compared to the white/latino guests at the hotel. We were also the subject of many stares wherever we went. However, there were a few staff that were genuinely nice. This has been our personal experience and we wanted to share this so other black travelers with the same concerns may at least be aware of what is likely to happen."

"Exceptional service. The rooms are simply elegant, enormous, well decorated and maintained. Staff is helpful, they clean, change beds, mop floors and clean surfaces daily. The hotel location is 50 meters from the Monument of the Revolution! A central location ,close to restaurants, historic sites and night life. Excellent restaurant, with a buffet breakfast. Rooftop pool and bar If I could give this hotel 20 stars, I will. Highly recommended for solo travelers."

"First visit in Mexico City and I’m very picky about hotels, this hotel is 10/10, the location is perfect between OXXO y 7/11, el Angel, metro is like 6 minute walk, and is lined with restaurants and stores. The room was 10/10, very clean nice Tv, nice view, big bathroom, comfortable bed, air conditioner was awesome for when it got hot, as a women I felt very safe going in and out around the hotel area. The only issue was the WIFI going in and out sometimes but otherwise perfect! You can hear the toilets from the next room when they flush, but otherwise very quiet. Would recommend and stay again! Staff is very friendly and helpful!"

"Doesn’t have room service. You have to took two elevators to get to the rooms. Property is just in the premises of Forum Buena Vista Mall. That was a plus. Beds are comfy. The air conditioner could be better. Not as cold as I wish. WiFi works great. They now have a breakfast with some Mexican dishes and American typical breakfast. I recommend this property."
