"I think I chose the wrong time of year to visit. It was 28c & room 220 had no AC. The window only opened 6 inches. The room was like boiling all night. With what bit of air was coming through was accompanied by the sound of seagulls all night long. So I didn’t get a great nights sleep unfortunately. Glad i was only in that room 2 nights. "Excellent property that was clean, centrally located and a good value. We would definitely stay here again. Take the quick drive to Lough Gur and spend a couple of hours enjoying the views and sites. The stone circle is especially impressive!"

"Super friendly staff. Our room was nice and clean. There was a bit of a mishap with our room on the 2nd day and it was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. We were moved to a new room and it was bigger, with a lovely view. To further compensate our inconvenience, we were given free dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and Steve, the staff member helping us with the unfortunate situation, was absolutely wonderful to deal with. Location was perfect, as we were able to walk to see all the sights and there were many pub and food options well within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Beautiful property. Adam was very helpful and kind upon check in. Room was nice. Loved the fact that this hotel had air conditioning (we arrived during a heat wave). Plan ahead- there was no mini fridge in the suites. There is a ice machine and water bottle filler, but no ice bucket so I had to walk to the machine with a mug for ice. I'm a somewhat larger woman (16-18 US) and the robes provides were just barely too small so could not enjoy unfortunately."

"It's a great hotel, very good location right near the edge of the city. Only a few small problems with it, the hairdryer didn't work, the windows hadn't been cleaned in what seemed to be a very long time and had bird dort on the windows, the sofa is stained quite a bit and the carpet made our little boys clothes very dirty as he's in his crawling stage, unfortunately we needed to change him twice while staying due to dirt. The washer and drier were right next to our room and we're supposed to be closed at 8pm each night but we had to ring reception one night at 9.30 to see when it was going to be closed due to something loud being in the dryer and banging for over an hour. We paid for a terrace room and we got a small concrete court yard with a picnic table we couldn't use as it was all warped. In saying all this! The room was very big, it had air con, was lovely and quite away from the main hotel, we could park right outside, the staff were lovely, we had a fully kitted kitenette and a beautiful bath. The beds were so comfortable also. Just thought it was slightly expensive for what it was."

"My family of 4 had a Family Room at the Savoy and it was perfect. Two twin beds and a king. Plenty of room. A big bathroom, tables to put all our bags on and very comfortable beds. It also had a great bar downstairs and convenient parking at the car park across the street that was discounted. Absolutely loved the Savoy!"

"Extremely helpful and knowledgeable at the front desk, Eva made some research and phone calls that went above and beyond normal service in saving me from a disastrous night having to do with mishaps I was dealing with elsewhere. I wish I could have had breakfast but had to split early it looked great though What a cool funky hotel with a lot of character and history, reasonably priced and comfortable in the middle of a cool city were I connected with trad musicians I hope to attend again thanks Robert"
