Great retreat away from crowds

My partner and I very much enjoyed our stay here. The sauna was a lovely addition, especially in the cool Bali mountains. The room was well appointed and comfortable.

Absolutely stunning

Our stay was amazing from the minute we walked into reception. And when we walked into our executive suite my mouth dropped. The most beautiful spacious suite. I requested some flowers for the bed and wow we had flowers everywhere I loved it. Staff wonderful. Food great and quick. Comfortable inside and out. The sauna was good. The pool would have been great if I wasn’t so cold. The rooftop terrace was beautiful in the evening and morning. For some reason they thought it was our honeymoon. Haha Overall a wonderful stay and would like to try the jacuzzi villa next time.

From the moment I arrived, I was utterly captivated by the magnificence of Shankara Munduk Bali. I went here with my friend from Japan and they really like it. The villa itself is clean, very affordable price for this luxury accommodation and it’s near from banyumala waterfall and lake tamblingan as well. The breakfast itself, I really love the Munduk Pancake, it’s unique and not too sweet. After went to waterfall, I ate lunch in the villa. The Indonesian food was amazing, love the plating. Their chicken satay & banana fritter are must order! A special shoutout to the afternoon tea while enjoying sunset. They served us assorted Balinese traditional cake & hot tea, it was executed to perfection. We also went for sauna because the air here was a little bit cold. After that, we went for dinner in here too (really love their soto medan and tempe mendoan). Talk about the service. The staff was friendly, attentive and warmth, they explained and served us very well, really appreciate about that. I highly recommended Shankara Resort Munduk to anyone who wants to have staycation in Munduk. For this price range, it’s a very great deal !

As a solo female traveller, I was initially nervous about staying here because there seemed to be no other guests. But the hotel staff were very friendly and attentive, they helped me feel comfortable and make the most of my stay. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and while the pool was cold (understandable because it was low season), I still enjoyed my swim. I had trouble accessing the Shankara website and I also was unable to call them, so let me help you plan your trip: - Don't book any activities ahead of your arrival, the staff will help you plan your excursions with a local guide/driver, and these services will be much more affordable than the ones you book ahead online (those ones are expensive because they cover transfers to and from the south/centre of the island) - Bring cash!!! Shankara only do transactions in cash - that means you pay your local, your driver (if you're going out to dinner) and any entry fees to waterfalls all in cash. It's very expensive to get cash out at the ATMs in Munduk (and hard to find functioning ATMs), so be prepared. In low season, it's about 30,000IDR to get a driver to take you to one of the local restaurants and back (not very affordable for solo travellers), approx 500,000IDR for activities with local guide (not including food/entry fees), and approx 650,000IDR for return transfer out of Munduk with a local guide you may spend 100,000-200,000IDR per person per meal within the hotel - Grab/Gojek are not available in Munduk

Bedre rengøring men sødeste personale!

Stedet kunne godt trænge til en ordentlig rengøring. Vi måtte skifte værelse grundet kondensvand i loftet og mug på myggenet over sengen. Dog var personalet 10 ud af 10. Vi havde et styrt på en scooter og de hjalp os med at køre hele vejen til en klinik og et hospital. De var der hele vejen igennem og er verdens sødeste mennesker. Derudover fik vi gratis opgraderet vores værelse. Så kæmpe tak til især Juni som gjorde oplevelsen meget bedre

L’hôtel et le service très bien. La chambre très spacieuse et très propre. Le seul point négatif est que nous sommes dans les montagnes donc un peu éloigné pour visiter. Vous devez louer un scooter où l’hôtel peut vous organiser un chauffeur
