Exceptional Stay at Van der Valk Hotel
My recent stay at Van der Valk was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and professional staff made me feel welcome. The room was spacious, modern, and clean, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a great night's sleep every night. The bathroom was also immaculate and well-stocked with toiletries. The hotel's location was perfect for my needs, as it was close to the Düsseldorf International Airport. The hotel's breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. The restaurant and bar were also great, with a cozy atmosphere and attentive service. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Van der Valk Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Düsseldorf. Wifi fungerade inte. Påtalade det och det snart skulle vara fixat men fungerade inte på hela vistelsen. Vaknade av brandlarmet kl 5-6 på morgonen höll på i ca 10 min. Efter det höll någon på att hamra. Väldigt lyhört. Påtalade problemen vid utcheckning men ingen kompensation erbjöds.

I was disappointed with the staff at the reception. Limited friendliness was easy to overlook but their unwillingness / incapability to exchange a malfunctioning blow dryer was annoying. Part of the reason why I booked the hotel was the offer for room service on the website. At the reception this was denied until I pointed out the website commitment during corona which made it available all of a sudden - but the food came way later than ordered.

Bad experience
The whole family could not sleep; the room was intolerably hot and noisy. No air conditioning and the fridge was not working. We opened the windows to have some fresh air in the room but sleep was even more difficult because of loud music from a wedding at the hotel.

Unfortunately, there were wasps in the room and I was bitten very seriously! The window had to be kept closed because of wasps and there was no air condition, so the room was too hot and the stay was a nightmare - also walking along the long, unaired corridors was very unpleasant. However, the food was excellent as ever (even better than before).

Good hotel, had some issues with the front desk when checking in, as in the instructions to the room were a bit vague, but it was largely because the stair/elevator design is poor - there are half floors below the main one, and you have to walk your luggage up or down stairs to get their. The room was quite comfortable, but the hallways were pretty dark and old in appearance. Still a good value for what you pay in this particular region.

Our stay was comfortable and hotel was convenient to where we needed to be. Our room was quite far from the elevator with four or five steps and a very heavy door to pass through--rather difficult while managing luggage. The door to our room was also very stiff and difficult to unlock and open. However, the room was clean and comfortable, if a little dark. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful.
