This resort was exceptional. The river rooms had a world famous view with amazing areas to sit and enjoy. The food is amazing and the service supreme. The ranch was very informative with tons of animals to visit. We did a trail ride on horseback that was spectacular. This is a great value and we can’t wait to return. Easy access to town with a wonderful drive in and out. We love Moab, the stars and The Sorrell Ranch. Thank you for your hospitality!!

The location is absolutely amazing, with stunning scenery all around. The gentle babble of the Colorado River flowing nearby is incredibly soothing and relaxing. The night skies here are breathtaking – incredibly dark and filled with countless stars, perfect for stargazing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; they quickly learned my name and made me feel like a valued guest throughout our stay. Our room was large, spacious, and perfectly suited for traveling with our dog – plenty of room for our furry family member to roam comfortably. However, there were two significant drawbacks that impacted our experience. First, this is a working ranch, so expect authentic ranch noises (animals, equipment, early morning activity) throughout the day. These sounds often cut through the otherwise serene atmosphere, which might disturb light sleepers seeking total tranquility. Second, and more disappointingly, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. You could feel the springs prominently, and every time my wife turned over, it sent me bouncing – it felt like being launched into orbit! For a property that positions itself as a 4- or 5-star experience, high-quality mattresses are essential, and this fell woefully short. Overall, the natural beauty, location, and staff make this a special spot, but the ranch noises and poor bed quality prevented it from being perfect. We'd consider returning if the mattresses are upgraded!

Sadly, Sorel is too expensive for what it is. It's obvious it used to be amazing but it's in need of a maintenance team and general refreshing. The rooms are clean but old. The hotel is seriously understaffed (one poor waiter in the restaurant) and the front desk staff is hit or miss. There are lightbulbs out all around the property and everything needs a fresh coat of paint. The daily expeditions, scenery and location of the hotel are great and why I'm giving the hotel 4 stars instead of 3. We did the Canyonlands tour, UTV tour and horseback riding. All of the staff running those activities were fantastic and are working hard. We didn't receive any services from the spa and can't speak to that.

Sorrel River Ranch is hands down one of the best places I've stayed in my life. Amazing views everywhere you look and a great location if you want to go checkout National/State parks. There's a ton of amazing scenery all around the area but we could have stayed on property for our entire trip and been completely satisfied. The restaurant is fantastic and our horseback ride was a ton of fun. Highly recommended!

We visited at the end of December, which is off season. We were the only guests. The staff took us on hikes and made dinner, lunch, and breakfast just for us. They were fully staffed as it is a working ranch. Rooms were excellent directly facing the river. The setting is magnificent with huge mountains and mesas surrounding the property. We loved it and the team there.

We went there for new years with the kids. As it as winter there was not much to do but the staff was beyond accomodating. The Ranch has a beautiful view of the river and all animals are well taken care of. It will definitely be better in summer.

The property was very dog friendly although the daily charge for the pet was high. We did not use the spa. I was annoyed that when we had a drink at the bar, they made us buy food, citing a Utah law that they claimed forces them to require that patrons buy some food at the bar. I happen to live in Utah part time, and have oftern had a drink at a bar that did NOT have this requirement. I don't think they know what thery are talking about and really resented this.

Beautiful setting with a large, comfortable room right on the river. However, not worth the cost. 30 minutes from town so food options are very limited. There is another resort a few minutes away that has the same views and is more reasonable. When I got home I saw they charged me for an additional night by mistake.

The property worst experience for money paid, you have a tolet flushing ac sound all night if you want to have ac running, if you want to sleep you have to have ac off, another minus ghere is no food at restaurant menu that you can order, half menu is not availabele and if you aant to eat you have to go to town which is 35 min away, so for money you have to pay for stay at this hotel is not worth at all, we are not leaving reviews ussualy for our hotels we stay at. But for this one we have to, avoid this overpriced and overrated hotel, it is not worth the money thay charge you for the night. Any other motel or other chain hotel which is 10 timex cheaper in this area is 10 times better. Will never stay here again. Di not waste your money!!!

A dramatic and very disappointing drop-off!

We stayed there in 2015 and it has gone backwards dramatically. It’s as if no exterior or interior maintenance and upkeep has happened at all. The place was a mess. It’s as if the owners decided to strip all revenue out of the place and run it with absolute minimum staffing. (The staff that was there was generally hard working but they were way overworked.) We ate dinner three nights there and they had to Comp drinks and/or dessert each night. The level of deferred maintenance was very high. It is a shame as the setting is stunning.

Property was beautiful but the level of service on all levels was very bad for the money you were charging on a nightly basis. At $800/ night you would expect to be greeted immediately at our car, handled quickly at check in,explained in great detail all of the various activities , personally taken to our roooms....nope..,none of that happened. Then when we came for dinner,, you were out of two items on a very limited menu, the wait for dinner once ordered was over thirty minutes and nobody was in the dining room. Same for all meals...way too long a wait. 5 star location with 2star service. The staff that we interacted with were always very nice but clearly, a lot of new hires and training was non-existent. If the room rates were $400/ night we could have overlooked a lot of this nonsense...but not at the rates you were charging.

Esperienza molto positiva a partire dal personale: Miranda e Courtney sono state molto brave e particolarmente gentili nei nostri confronti, dandoci un accoglienza piacevolissima! Entrambe hanno soddisfatto le nostre aspettative come la location in generale! È a tutti gli effetti il tipo di “hotel”che cercavamo, lontano dal rumore del traffico, con il giusto numero di camere e per niente affollato. la nostra camera si è dimostrata all’altezza delle nostre aspettative, curata in modo molto particolare e dal tipico country feeling, biancheria Frette e caffè Illy ( il tocco italiano che fa la differenza) la mattina la colazione è servita nella sala panoramica, prendere un tavolo con vista sul Colorado river mentre consumate l’ottima colazione non ha paragoni con altri Hotel non lontano dal Sorrel Ranch!! A tutti gli italiani in viaggio lungo questa destinazione Moab e Gran Canyon, consiglio almeno una notte in questo meraviglioso posto!
