Hi Jill, thank you for your incite. We had not had someone experience sound passing under the door before and will look into blocking that better. Your room, the Rose, IS the room with antique furniture most around 100 years. Other rooms are more modern, but we 2ill look into the creak of the bed right away. Tipping is completely optional, and of course there is a no tip option, but before this payment system we were asked how to leave tip. Ours starts at 5% so as fo be minimal and there is a section for a specific amount. I hope you give another room a try next time your in Missoula!

Thanks Ritch for your great review in spite of our road. I was doing maintainence and it rained creating a mess for a few days. Mud was going away fast the next day.

Hello! Thank you for staying with us. I am updating our description of the driveway on Expedia and its partners for guests who do not enjoy a natural Montana experience. Long dirt roads are the way you access scenic large private properties in Montana and how you you get the wonderful views we have. Sadly we have little control over the main highway far below us, But most find us very peaceful in spite of this. We have a great many pets stay with us and they are always welcome to be with guests. Our small inn is to be a home away from home for our guests. We had several limitations on what could fix with your families dietary needs which we always are happy to work with, but it does limit what we can fix. Each guest room is themed from our families antiques, so we have personal connection to the decorations and love sharing the stories of them with our guests. Tahnk you again for staying with us and we hope your travels bring you many perfect spots to enjoy.

Dear Lynn,We definitely will make sure Expedia has a better description of our road and inn and reflects, more accurately, our actual webpage. Most of Montana's most spectacular views are found at the top of windy roads. It does catch some people by surprise and so again, we'll update the information here on Expedia. In terms of the breakfast, we knew that at least one of the members in your party was vegan and so we provided a special, inclusive menu. Most of our vegan guests are ecstatic that they aren't simply served fruit, so we sincerely do our best to accommodate everyone. Non-vegan guests normally really enjoy the buckwheat pancakes as well. We do provide comment sheets and are just a phone call away so that lighting or other issues can be dealt with as soon as possible. We are sorry if that wasn't relayed well to you. Our Montana get-away is meant to have a down to earth, western, homey feel. We maintain themes for each room and many of the "outdated" art pieces are actually originals from various western artists. We love sharing our family antiques with guests and maintaining a modern feel is really not our priority. Again, that is indicated on our webpage. We do provide movies for in-room use because public viewing is actually not allowed. We apologize that such information wasn't understood. We appreciate your feedback in terms of the curtains and will see what we can do to replace/coordinate them. Aesthetics and functionality are both important to us. Our original window treatments needed additional blackout curtains and thus may feel mis-matched. We wish you the best on the rest of your trip and sincerely hope you find whatever it is you are looking for.

I am truly sorry you did not have the experience you were looking for when you stayed with us!  The Rose room is Victorian,  hence must things are antique and old.  Many come from our family and are a part of its heritage.   We regret it was not to your liking.  During your stay we tried to communicate several times but we never heard back from you. We didn't know you were unhappy or we could have done our best to make things right.  We have never had a problem with hot water in your room, but it is the furthest from our water heater and does take a couple minutes to get hot.  We want every guest to have a wonderful stay, but we have to know there is a problem so we can fix it.  Again, we are so sorry we didn't make your weekend the getaway you wanted.
