The location is ideal, close to the airport, Mall of America and major highways to downtown Minneapolis. And that's where the pros end.
We booked this property two months ago based on rave reviews. The reality was far different. To start, the front desk surprised us with a $10/day parking fee that was not stated anywhere in the reviews or property description when I initially booked it. We had to park in the back, where only one of two entrances were available. That entrance led to a stairwell that was so dimly lit it was practically dark.
The beds were uncomforable. Our bed creaked loudly every time we shifted, waking us and our daughter constantly. Maintenance never showed up to fix it when I told the front desk. We ended up stuffing two of our pillows between the mattress and box spring to muffle the noise. Our room smelled like stale cigarettes and weed despite the sign in the room that prohibited smoking of any kind.
Breakfast consisted of watered-down coffee, waffles, cold cereal and yogurt. I think there was fruit but I didn't stay to find out.
When we went out for the day one morning there was a man openly smoking weed outside right next to the back door. I didn't really care what he was smoking. But some guests were families with kids who didn't need to be exposed to that.
Finally, the property appears to have all sorts of sketchy people coming and going. We never felt completely safe. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
