"Wonderful stay. The setting is very peaceful and calm, after a 2 night stay we felt utterly replenished. The beds and pillows were large and comfortable. Robes and slippers were provided. The staff were friendly, approachable and professional. The spa is truly a gem here. Clean , was never crowded and relaxing. We never had any treatments but didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Loved sitting outside the spa and eating after a relaxing spa session. Special mention to Victoria at the spa...

"Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu"

"Lovely hotel. Stayed with my wife for her birthday. We had a deluxe room which was quite a long walk from hotel reception. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was massive! Only negative points for the room were the amount of cobwebs and dust around light fittings and soundproofing between rooms. We could clearly hear people in other rooms using their toilet facilities. "Large, comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Very amenable and accommodating hosts with nice ideas such as putting on complimentary food in the bar during England World Cup games. We had a “simple” pie & chips from the menu and it was terrific with, as promised, real gravy. We didn’t have full English breakfast but the toast on the Continental option from a local artisan baker was fab. Lots of little touches that make the Royal Oak a little different from the ordinary."
