Would stay again!

Magical stay in a beautiful castle! I ate the best meal I have ever had in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty! My husband said he had the best eggs! It was just a lovey stay, but book a taxi ahead of time as it’s difficult to reach them if you arrive in the evening. Go into Eschwege as it is a picturesque town with a very helpful tourist center.

Wir haben diese Unterkunft gebucht, da wir gerne für unsere Auszeit einen Wellnessbereich nutzen wollten. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht, da die Sauna aufgrund eines Defekts nicht genutzt werden konnte. Dies erfuhren wir erst, als wir uns am ersten Morgen für die Sauna anmelden wollten. Die Nutzung der Hotelterrasse ist leider wenig einladend gestaltet. Da ein Zugang tagsüber nur auf Nachfrage durch das geschlossene Restaurant möglich ist und die Terrasse von außen mit einer Kette als geschlossen gekennzeichnet wird. Im Restaurant hatten wir ein 3-Gänge-Menü, das Essen war sehr gut und der Service war zu Beginn ebenfalls sehr zuvorkommend. Während unserer Hauptspeise kam eine größere Gruppe ins Restaurant. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt wurden wir vom Service weitestgehend ignoriert, so dass wir über eine Stunde auf die Nachspeise warteten. Die Nachspeise war sehr gut, in einer dieser Speisen befand sich allerdings ein Stück Frischhaltefolie oder ähnliches, dies teilten wir dem Personal beim Gehen mit, worauf uns gesagt wurde, dass dies nicht sein könne und die Tatsache daraufhin keiner weiteren Beachtung geschenkt wurde. Aufgrund dieser Reaktion haben wir uns entschlossen, die weiteren Schritte über Expedia als Vermittler laufen zu lassen, hierbei war Expedia sehr zuvorkommend, vom Hotel wurde ein Entgegenkommen abgelehnt.

Skuffelse og en meget dårlig oplevelse

Efter en uge på på rejse igennem Tyskland ville vi opleve et slotsophold i skoven, hvor der var ro og også spa inkluderet. Ved tjek ind, fik vi besked på at spa afdelingen var lukket! Dertil oplyste de at deres restaurant var fuldt booket af selskab! Så stod vi meget skuffet tilbage og vidste at der var langt til byen for aftensmaden og vores forventninger til et spa ophold var bristet! Hvis vi var blevet oplyst at spa afdelingen var lukket inden ankomst? Var oplevelsen havet været os foruden, da det var blevet aflyst. Dårlig kundeservice og for os et dyrt ophold uden andet end et værelse med morgenmad. Det dyreste af alle vores hoteller på rejsen. Vi kørte derfra med en stor skuffelse og en rigtig dårlig oplevelse i bagagen :-( Ps. Hvis jeg ville booke samme slot i dag? Står der stadigvæk at der er spa til rådighed? Det er da bondefangeri udover alle grænser.

Bellissimo hotel, purtroppo solo 1 notte

La struttura è bellissima e curata in maniera eccellente. Mi è dispiaciuto restare solo una notte. Il personale è squisito. Ottima la colazione con miele direttamente dall'arnia. L'unica nota negativa, a mio giudizio, è che hanno chiesto 5 euro per il parcheggio al momento del check out.

Das Hotel ist live viel schöner als auf den Bildern. Die Zimmer sind größer als beschrieben und in TOP Zustand. Das Personal ist überaus zuvorkommend und steht’s sehr freundlich um die Anliegen des Gasts bemüht. Bei unserem Aufenthalt war das Hotel ausgebucht und 15 Minuten vor Frühstücksende waren Sekt und Lachs leer. Ohne etwas zu sagen wurde nach 5 Minuten beides aufgefüllt. MEGA.

Wochenende im Schloss.

Ein Hotel für ein romantisches Wochenende. Schöne Aussichten vom Schloss zum Werratalsee. Oder zum Treffen von Familien zum Wochenende wenn man Ruhe benötigt. Wir hatten die große Suite. Traumhaft! Kann man sehr gut empfehlen.

Made reservations months in advance for deluxe room. When checking in was told I could only have a basic room because I was traveling with my service dog. Told the price would be reduced, but at check out, I was told I would need to pay for the more expensive room since I booked with Expedia. The basic room was the size of a walk in closet. The room was very clean, yet the bathroom glasses were not replaced, but left from the night before. The water bottle placed in the room was not exchanged, but left empty. Lastly, the soap was 1 container of liquid soap for everything, by that I mean, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It was attached to the wall and very difficult to use. You had to squeeze with both hands, therefore no way to catch except to pick up off floor of shower. It would seem that a luxurious hotel as this that had a spa would have individual soaps and even lotion and shower cap but no, just 1 bottle of liquid soap.

Goed hotel in een mooi slot

Het is niet de eerste keer dat ik in dit hotel verblijf. Een schitterend hotel, een slot uit 1904, die een goede kwaliteit biedt. Prima kamers, wat ik miste was een waterkoker/koffiezetapparaat en koelkast op de kamer. In deze prijsklasse / type hotel mag je dat wel verwachten, net als wet meer fruit bij het ontbijt, wat verder uitstekend is, of een schaal appels bij de receptie. De spa die vrij toegankelijk is, bestaat uit een uitstekende sauna en een dampsauna, een bad ontbreekt .

just a facade

One of my worst experiences ever. It doesn’t at all deserve 4 stars. The old castle looks amazing from the outside, but the interior design is horrible and very outdated. The whole hotel is without A/C. We booked a penthouse suite and it was without any views and a horrible indoor climate. The wrote the size of the room was 100 m2, and it was way under 50 m2. The food at the restaurant is bad quality and overpriced.

Dejligt ophold på et stemningsfuldt slots-hotel.

Et skønt ophold på et stemningsfuldt slots-hotel i et meget smukt område. Pæne værelser, men mangel på aircondition trækker en del ned på den samlede bedømmelse. Det er vanskeligt at sove i næste 30 graders varme. WiFi er ikke så hurtigt, men dog funktionelt til mail mm. Rigtigt gode parkeringsforhold. Rimeligt prissat. Rigtig god restaurant og venligt personale. Absolut et besøg værd.
