The property was so beautiful and right on the beach. Dinner was overpriced for the quality, but the breakfast buffet was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful place and wonderful staff. The hotel is well kept and seems still new. The room was large and the patio and well were lovely being both private and with great views.
The staff were lovely especially Cindy and Lucianna who made the restaurant perfect and spoilt our 6 year old. Only negative was a few small mosaic tiles missing around the pool.
On the north Mahe. Very nice beach typical to Seychelle. We took the chalet with sea view -highly recommend. You should note that for dinner if you choose not to eat in the hotel you need to take a taxi.
We enjoyed our stay.
The staff at the hotel were great , pool and beach are good however in July waves are rough.
The food was hit or miss, some days good other times awful no consistency in quality.
We really enjoyed our holiday here . The chalet view of the ocean is amazing and the private pool in the chalet has good privacy . The staff is very friendly and helpful . The only thing I found irksome was the internet that kept disconnecting and needed a new password every time from the reception . Its about 30 mins from the main town . I would definitely come back here
An absolutely beautiful location. Each chalet villa has a fantastic view with spectacular sunrise & sunsets.
We were nicely welcome by staff and taken care of during our entire stay always with our comfort , enjoyment and satisfaction as their primary concern.
The pool area was very comfortable and easy access to a spectacular blue water beach . The food was also very tasty , though it’s nice go into Victoria occasionally for variety .
I highly recommend this boutique hotel .
Can be pricey with food, but totally worth it for this very special location. My compliments to the hotel staff at food and beverage and Mr Marco on their sucsessful efforts .
Staff is extremely nice, and catered to all our requests. There were a couple of unexpected problems that required special attention by the staff.
They took ownership of the problems (even if the issue was out of their hands), and compensated above and beyond.
We felt like a 7* service, all the way.
We enjoyed the intimate personal beach they offer, which is very easy to access.
Would definitely return to this place.
Beautiful property and beach. The staff is nice but don't expect amazing customer service. You can lay by the pool all day and not one person will ask you if you want any food or drinks. Read it in other reviews and it was on point. But the facility is beautiful and the staff is nice. If you don't mind getting up to order food and drinks you'll be just fine.
good location but very poor service. simple amenities and requests were not executed and problems with the room ignored. staff is mostly unattended. not acceptable for a so-called luxury hotel with high room rates.
Very nice location and great views, at least from the villa we had (#14). Restaurant, pool and other facilities are nice enough and boast spectacular views as well. Good parking. During our stay (early June), the sea was quite rough including strong current; swimming was advisable only at certain times. The breakfast was average at best, so we did not test lunch or dinner, but ventured to other places in the area.
To us, the big downside was the service, which is lacking professionality, hospitality and interest in the helping guests have a good time. Examples include strongly insisting on full payment on arrival despite a long journey, hefty charges for Nespresso capsules in the room, the lack of breakfast menus and long waiting times for virtually anything we ordered. As guests, we constantly felt guilty of annoying staff and keeping on distracting them from their work.
In summary, at Carana Beach you are paying for the very nice location, seaview from the rooms and the intimacy of a smaller hotel. Other than that, the place is a disappointment.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We stayed at Carana Beach Hotel for our honeymoon in July 2018 and were EXTREMELY dissapointed by the experience. We booked well in advance and were offered a villa with a pool with direct sunlight in a private location. When we arrived we were placed in a room that had shade over the pool making it extremely cold and next to balconies that were 1 meter away. When we complained to management they offered to downgrade us to a regular room and a refund for the difference in rates, since we couldn't use the pool. At this point we were moved to the room furthest away from the beach with a terrible view, which we ultimately accepted so we could get the refund. However, when we requested the refund after our stay, the hotel lied saying that they never offered us a refund. As if someone in their right mind would downgrade from a villa with a pool to a smaller room furthest away from the beach and without a pool, as still agree to pay the original price.
As if this were not enough, we had a numerous other issues including:
- We found hair in a plate of food (this plate was never even refunded).
- We specifically requested a vegetarian lunch box for a day tour and received a lunch box with meat, so my wife couldn't eat for the entire day.
- The A/C broke down and maintenance didn’t fix it until the next day so we couldn’t sleep for an entire night due to the heat.
- The WiFi in the room didn’t work for two days.
Avoid this hotel at all costs.
