The Good points: bed was comfortable, micro fridge was a nice size, morning breakfast bagels and cream cheese were good, along with a waffle maker, area was quiet and convenient to the highway. The Bad points: condition of room was poor- shower curtain drooped due to sketchy curtain rod repairs at connection points, shower stall surround missing trim parts, TV remote sticky from multiple layers of scotch tape holding the battery cover on, a/c unit was marginal resulting in high humidity levels, morning coffee was bad, didn't see an ice maker

The first thing I noticed is when I walk into the hotel it smelled clean. Customer service was awesome. Smell good it was nice and clean and the shower was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.

It was so loud all night. I could hear the person in the other room snoring even though I turned white noise on my phone The hallways were noisy with staff or other patrons. I woke up to what sounded like a cars transmission squealing which went on for every 15 minutes from 7am until noon. Maybe later I don’t know. Staff was very friendly though.

Great place to stay 20-30 minutes from Lynchburg. Rates are really good. Hotel is charming, free buffet breakfast was adequate. Rooms could use more updating, shower had peeling paint, but overall for the price of the rooms a good place to stay

When we got there and checked into our room, we walked in the door and the room had not been cleaned. The front desk clerk was very helpful, but moved us to another room with two double beds instead of a king. The rooms are very poorly maintained and the amenities are not that great.

The staff was very friendly and great. Breakfast was good and the pool area was pretty backing to trees. The building looked nice on the outside but the inside would really benefit from getting some updates. The room itself was clean but rest of building could be more clean.

Property is older and a bit dated, but staff are very friendly and helpful. We had an unfortunate plumbing issue early in the morning of our last day (due to the early morning hour, no maintenance person was available, but the front desk clerk was quick to get us into a different room quickly). Room(s) were clean, bar soap and basic shampoo, conditioner, lotion dispensers and hairdryer available. TVs were a little glitchy (had to manually turn on tv, THEN use the remote to operate. This was true in our original room and the replacement room). Complementary breakfast (with amazingly tasty scrambled eggs and fluffy biscuits, sausage gravy available the first day) as well as the usual selection of bagels, toast, cereal, packaged pastries, fruit, yogurt, and of course your waffle maker! Pool and exercise room available. Daily housekeeping available as well. Air conditioning worked beautifully (a definite plus in mid July here!). And quite obviously pet friendly.

The property is great and all workers are wonderful. The only downside is some of the people staying there are absolute “clowns” to say the least. They allow their children to run around in the room well past midnight and don’t care about any of the other guest. Classic entitlement syndrome but that should not reflect poorly on the employees so I still give 5-stars.

Clean room and great customer service. There was a pest issue in my first room (flying insects bathroom, likely related to leaking tub faucet) and staff easily accommodated me with new room. However the evidence in various areas around property signals chronic water damage. Furniture visibly worn and in need of upgrade.

Great hotel to stay in if you're in Altavista or need a place to stay overnight on a road trip. The breakfast has good options...eggs, sausage or bacon, breakfast sandwich, yogurt, toast, biscuits, muffins, danishes, waffle maker, coffee with plain, vanilla or hazelnut creamers...can you tell a good breakfast is important to me!??!?! The room itself is no frills, but the flooring is nice! Not carpet with stains, but a nice kind of engineered wood hybrid with a dark stain finish. The bathroom had nice smooth tile flooring...everything felt clean and spic and span! The bed and pillows were comfortable and I was able to get a good night's sleep both nights we stayed there. All of the staff were excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a good one. All-in-all, this is a great option for staying in Altavista. Really helped to be close to my dad while visiting him in Autumn Care of Altavista...an excellent nursing home option if needed for your loved one.
