This hotel is directly across from the Academy Center of the Arts, so the location was perfect. The hotel is in need of renovation. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Knew we were booking a 3-star motel and it's that. Bathrooms were clean, staff very nice and helpful. Negatives were wifi didn't work in our room (too far away), only one floor had working ice machine. Great location for walking down Main St. and to river area. Had a decent workout room. Pool was not filled (Oct. stay, so not a problem). Price was good so even with my issues, I'd consider staying there again.

This property could be a great place to stay, both location and the historic vibe it gives. It honestly just needs some upgrades and it could be one of the best in Lynchburg. It looks like someone has just recently begun doing a few things to update and make it a great place. Carpet in the room I was in needs to be replaced. The entire hotel had an “old smell” to it that rivals my grandmother’s house but it was even worse in my room. The hotel was clean though. The elevators have wood walls, which is almost obsolete. I would definitely try to keep that vibe but they need some reconditioning or something to make them look better kept. Lobby could use more decor and it just doesn’t have a “welcome” vibe to it. Lastly, the lighting rivals that of an old hotel or saloon you would see in an old western movie, almost like candles or gas lights were giving it just enough light to see but not enough to make you feel comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and I would love to see some improvements made on this place. It could be beautiful. The person that checked me in wasn’t rude but I didn’t really feel welcome by them. They could work on some customer service skills.

The staff were lovely and the lobby impressive. The rooms are dated— the wallpaper, bathrooms (tiles in shower need a good bleach cleaning), dirty desk chair. Was disappointed when I entered the room to see 2 full size beds instead of queen, as advertised. Apparently all the rooms have the same sized beds, so don’t expect a queen. Location in Lynchburg is good. Hotel was fine for one night.

This was a fine and inexpensive property to use while visiting downtown Lynchburg. The hotel is quite dated, and some of it appears to be closed or undergoing construction. Nevertheless, the price point and the location are selling points, and I would certainly stay there again for quick visits to Lynchburg.

Lynchburg Grand was a decent place to stay for a night. I know they are doing some renovations, so there was no continental breakfast. Most of the ice machines were out of order. We didnt need ice but im sure some did and there was only 2 floors the machines worked. The staff were all very nice and our room was very clean. We would stay here again if its only for a night or two.

Room was clean but old. Property is under renovation which is not mentioned online. Also no breakfast, only coffee. Needs a good up to date Reno on rooms. Also keurig coffee maker in room only brews half a cup of coffee so I wouldn’t waste my time using it. The fridge did come in handy for outside drinks tho. Thank you to the staff which were all very polite and friendly!

This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It was really clean and we heard NOTHING!! No one yelling down the halls, no doors slamming nor heard any noise from outside. I’ll definitely use them again.

PROS: Quiet, friendly staff, walkable location, safe, ice machine, good water pressure CONS: in need of maintenance & updating. We couldn’t get in to the room we were first assigned due to the card reader not working properly. The room we were moved to had a phone that did not work & possible mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. There were no vending machines

I thought the staff was very kind, helpful and professional. However, the rooms were honestly filthy. When I turned the hearer on, a gross smell like rotten food would fill the room. Everything is verrrry run down, old. Layer of dirt on everything. It just feels like the rooms definirely don't get more than maybe the bedding changed between guests. I wouldn't stay here again

The staff was lovely and helped with an issue getting in my room. The room however had several issues: the handle on the shower to adjust the water temperature was broken and you had to manually search for the hot water by moving the handle around until eventually you landed in the right spot; the tub drain stopper was broken and hanging into the tub and had rusted to the bottom of the tub; and there was a huge stain on one side of the comforter that resembled blood. I’m not sure if the comforter had even been washed.

Great location, but the building is delapidated and the lobby and room smelled--maybe it was the VERY old carpet. Just very unkempt building and as we left, we noticed the room across from ours had a hand-installed steel flap with a dial lock clamped on it. Creepy. Tripped on the torn hallway rug that led to the elevator buttons that wouldn't light or chime. Unfortunate.
