"We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

"Beautiful room exceptionally clean , Tracy very welcoming and given good information as too breakfast which again was beautifully cooked very attentive , checking in and checkout was a breeze plus having lock up parking off the street was a bonus , great location only think when busy yiu need to book restaurants in advance definitely recommend this guesthouse "

"Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help."

I was given a guided tour of the breakfast facilities upon check in and then shown to my room. The breakfast itself next morning was delicious and made to order. Rothay Garth is situated right at the heart of Ambleside, with all the local amenities only a couple of minute's walk away. There was also ample free parking on the premises.
