Our second stay at the Shay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service staff both at the front desk and at the restaurants were very nice. The two restaurants both have good food. Currently there is construction going on so if you’re staying on that side of the construction side it may be a little loud as you can hear the sound. Otherwise, there are close by restaurants around to try and it seems like a quiet neighborhood.

Checked in just before 10pm and we’re told food available until 11pm. But when we got there they told us starting that night they were closing an hour early and the kitchen was already cleaned. We had to order room service and the sandwich they brought was grilled and with French fries , all made in the kitchen that was just cleaned. Then the tv wasn’t working and technician came and couldn’t get it to work. So we ate our food and then we’re moved to another room at 11pm. The next day our card keys had to be fixed 4 times and the last time we tried to go up to our room, management had to escort us on the elevator and then into our room. Never have we had so many problems in a one night stay

We were glad to be able to check in at 3. We had driven from the Bay Area and were tired and hungry. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and food at the Canopy Club. Definitely worth it.

This was a great stay! The property is beautiful! Food at hotel was incredible, easy to get around and exceptionally clean and quiet. The room was wonderful and slept like a baby in the comfortable bed. Modern amenities and i absolutely loved the text service, you can text the front desk with any questions, or for service. What a nice option! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be staying here again when I am in the area!

The rooms were clean, excellent blackout curtains and shower! Also really loved the Chromecast in each room so we could stream from our personal devices. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a very nice day at the Shay. Went with my friend and our daughters to go see Taylor Swift. When we walked into the lobby, they had bracelet making. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the property is adorable! the food that we ate was fantastic up at the pool side restaurant, and the atmosphere was great!

Everything was good except the check in and check out.
They told me the room not ready but you can upgrade the room to be ready and they charge for that upgrade, the room is same but in high floor
When I checked out also there is additional fee for facilities that I didn’t use it. But, they said it is a policy of hotel

You were offered an upgrade from a Standard King into a Hollywood Hills View King that was ready to go at check in.All reservations have a 30 destination fee which includes complimentary waters, use of the 24-hour fitness center, free Metro passes and much more. I'm sorry you don't feel like you got much use out of that. We hope to see you again soon!
Reservations were made 6 months ago. We worked Friday and then had a 1 1/2 hour drive so we didn’t arrive until 10pm and because the hotel was at capacity we got the last room which was under your club. As you can imagine it was loud and made hearing the tv, conversation, relaxing and sleeping difficult. Maybe rooms should be assigned when reserved.

The entire property makes you feel as if you have escaped LA. From the rooms, to the dining, to the roof top luxury pool area, every moment was completely comfortable, relaxing and exceeded expectations. For anyone who dreads accommodation in LA, The Shay will make you happy.

What I loved about this hotel was the staff. The staff was always helpful and accommodating. I also liked how everything was there at the hotel coffee, places to eat and relax.
