"This was not a place I would stay again… pros…. The staff was all very kind and always had a smile… that’s it. The room was clean while outdated it was clean and that’s what I needed.. the constant banging of doors to get up and down the stairs was awful, the side door to get in didn’t lock so it didn’t feel safe. The hallways were dirty, no ice machine, pop machine didn’t work, no laundry like it states. The so called roof top terrace they stated they have is nothing but an area with no chairs...

"We were happy with the hotel, the amenities and the staff. The location of the hotel in proximity to the boardwalk and other local attraction is excellent. Having the mall with a great food court just steps away next to the hotel is also incredibly useful and convenient. Our only negative, as minor as it is, is the Hotel Restaurant. We decide to try to go there for breakfast one morning and despite the restaurant being rather empty we were told wait there to be seated. She then went about her...

"Our stay overall was functional. Our room had what we needed. It had been cleaned and included newer flooring, but the hallway leading up to the room looked like it needed a good vacuum as garbage was on the floor. Our room windows were very dirty so we kept our curtains closed. The breakfast was ok, but mostly cold. We did appreciate the hot coffee. The location was ideal to walk to the harbour ferry and go to Halifax."

"Be aware of the room you are choosing. We stayed in Aft Castle room 6. The online pictures show living areas, kitchens etc but we had one very small room and small bathroom, with no additional living areas, not representative of the photos. If you have mobility issues, this is not your room, as it is three floor walk up. As well, there is very limited parking on site, with overflow parking one block away."
