"Upon arrival at the Grantham Arms, we were welcomed warmly by staff. The atmosphere was friendly and cheerful on the Saturday before Christmas. Our room was well-appointed and very cosy. The decor was stylish and comfortable with plenty of cushions and good quality bed linen and towels. "Very clean, all the staff were friendly even though it was very busy in the build up to new year. We ate at the restaurant and the food was great. Chose it mainly cos it was dog friendly but would certainty go back without the dogs, is a short walk into Ripon centre and there looked to be lots of nice bars and restaurants. "

"A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, offering cosy, comfortable rooms that make for a relaxing stay. There are several pubs nearby, and it’s easy to reach York city centre by bus, or by a scenic 40-minute walk. A great balance of peace and convenience — I’ll definitely be returning."
