"The room was great, the staff very friendly but what was outstanding was the food, what a surprise it was, pub food is normally quite boring in my opinion but this was anything but. Pork belly mash and the most delicious red cabbage I've ever had and I've travelled a lot and eaten a lot in my travels, this was up there with the best. "

"A lovely thatched roof pub with sitting out area. The lady was so lovely and welcoming we can’t remember her name but she lived right by the pub. "The house is spotlessly clean and it’s very well laid out , from arriving and getting key ( a lovely lady answered the bell and advised how to get the key ) . You get in as is very clean , it has 4 double rooms and one shared shower/toilet , very impressive with the lay out . I would 100% recommend and book again"

"It's misleading to say you provide breakfast when the only breakfast is make it yourself. The only thing on offer was stale cereals and bread that I had to cut the mould off. The toilet doesn't flush properly and the shower doesn't drain properly but it was a good shower. There was no food available in the restaurant. It also states it provides parking. It doesn't."

Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned "

"We had the attic room and it's very spacious. The bedroom has a huge bed that is not too soft and we slept like the dead. Dual aspect with sky lights. Fan and extra soft cuddly blankets if needed. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron and microwave. However, the fridge was the reason I booked. A seating area where you can chill without a TV on and a small book shelf with a wide variety of books. We were very pleasantly surprised. Lindsay, the owner is a lovely fellow and you could just stop and talk...

"Lovely ‘simple self-catering’ in the heart of Dartmoor. Great set of appliances to have a nice coffee and brekky in bed! Coffee and non-dairy milk included - thank you Terry :) we really enjoyed our stay and had a super sleep. The hot tub looked inviting but the weather was just a bit too miserable for us to venture out there. Next time!"
