This is a wonderful hotel -- a stylish simplicity with stunning views from the balcony and a lovely lawn to contemplate the grandeur of the alps. Staff could not have been nicer - delicious breakfast -- a perfect base to explore.

We adored our 6 night stay here. The staff are welcoming, and so helpful. The small touches like a welcome drink, branded items, the honesty bar, walking poles, umbrellas, and blankets help to create such an easy and lovely atmosphere for guests. The interior design of the hotel is outstanding… every tiny item has clearly been sourced to be in keeping with their vintage 20th century feel. Breakfast was amazing; the breads, cheese, etc were high quality and fresh, along with all the items. The option of cooked eggs each morning was perfect. We had a panoramic balcony room and though the room is small, the view is absolutely unbelievable. Without a doubt the best view from a hotel room I’ve ever had. We are already talking about our next trip.

The Alpenruhe is incredible. Traditional from the outside and modern in the lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great . Easy to get to with a perfect location. Highly recommended

Nice staff, friendly and accommodating. The room so small I bumped my knees several times. I’m also tall, lol. The bed/mattress and pillows were uncomfortable I’m left me with a neck and shoulder ache for days; I’m a side sleeper. Great view though! Oh and no soy milk, had to bring my own. They have oat milk if you’re lactose intolerant.

What a wonderful stay in Wengen. The hosts were kind, professional and warm. The room was what we needed. It was perfect for 2. The view was amazing and such a great location. We were thrilled. We moved on Murren for the night and wish we had stayed here again.

Superb choice in Wengen

On a recent 2 week trip through Switzerland my husband and I stayed in multiple hotels and enjoyed our stay at Alpenruhe in Wengen the most. We were there for 4 nights and the room and the service was excellent. The hotel has the design and feel of a well kept “non-touristy” Swiss chalet. The attention to detail was above average, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff was especially helpful with providing transportation to and from the hotel (good with large luggage but not needed for the 10 minute walk into the town center or train station if you don’t have mobility issues). Their included breakfast buffet is outstanding - hot eggs to order, cereals, breads, juices, hot drinks, and multiple platters of fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, etc. Wengen is a wonderful car-free village with easy access to regional sights and hikes by train or gondola. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

I could not love this hotel more! I could write a mini novel about how wonderful Andreas and Jana and the whole team at Alpenruhe are. Absolutely lovely people. The town of Wengen, in my opinion, was the perfect base to explore all over the Jungfrau region. Convenient and easy to access other areas but so quiet that you feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of busier towns such as Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. We had spent an amazing and memorable time at Alpenruhe. The staff members were so kind, friendly, helpful & made us feel welcomed. They went out of their way to pick us up and drop us off at Wengen train station! The location is on point. Waking up everyday to the snow capped alps peaking through our balcony, what else could we have asked for our honeymoon 😊 Breakfast was really good too. The owners are so kind we even had a parting gift from them. Highly recommended!
