5 stars Aside from the bloodstains on the carpet and the 1 mouse we saw under the fridge, The place was pretty clean and felt pretty safe. The staff were very friendly. There were no bed bugs or cockroaches I figured there were enough spiders in the corners of the room to take care of all those pests, but did a double check just to be safe. The shower had great pressure. I mean it better cause it sounded like a bomb going off every time you turned it on. The hot water was great for long showers, never ran cold. Definitely give it 5 stars and would book again , definitely entertaining like a game of clue. Who did it, with what weapon, and how.... hopfully it was just a bad nosebleed.

We were upgraded to a family suite for some reason and we loved it. Very generous space, fully equipped kitchenette and very clean. Very quiet, comfortable and peaceful. Would stay there again for a longer time- awesome place as a base to explore this beautiful area.

The Lake Cowichan Lodge is an older but clean and comfortable hotel. The room I rented consisted of a suite with a separate bedroom and had a kitchenette with a full size fridge and stove. I would recommend the LCL to any price conscious traveller.

The management hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The kitchenette equipment was missing some basic items , due to guests taking things , ( !? ) , but the management quickly provided some items needed. The suites are large and comfortably furnished, and the beds are too. The Lodge is very quiet and peaceful, and located very conveniently, walking distance to downtown and the Cowichan River ,and very near to the Highway 18 , to access driving Youbou or to Duncan and other destinations up or down island. We have stayed there many times over the years, and always want to go back for another visit. Also, the rates are very affordable ! Thank you, Lake Cowichan Lodge !
