As well as the 5/5 ratings this hotel gets on all metrics, there are a couple of things that make this a great choice for the first time traveller to Marrakech... The owner is British and spends a decent amount of time talking his guests through the ways of the city. After our introduction we felt a lot more equipped to tackle the streets on our own. The location has a couple extra of benefits. Firstly the street is wide enough to get a car down so there's no walking the last 1/4 mile...

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about going to Marrakech because I was outside my comfort zone. However, I was proven wrong. Yes the souks are an eye opener and you will get lost but everything leads back to the square so go with it. Villa Makassar is in the medina close to the Kings palace a great location with excellent staff that can't do enough for you. We stayed in grand suite, which is bigger than the average room and recommended for a short stay and worth the extra cost. Also...

Genuinely an incredible experience at Dar 73. What is hidden behind a small wooden door is exceptional. Convenient walking to Bahia Palace, Badi Palace and Jemaa El Fna. Great breakfast and food options for lunch or dinner. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, explained the area in detail, excursions available and we always so friendly. Our room was immaculate, spacious and accommodating. We would recommend this to any family or friends.

Luxurious riad, which although in the medina with the souks right on the doorstep, is so quiet when you are in the riad, you wouldn't believe how close you are to everything. Staff can't do enough to help and management always ask how you are and offer help and advice on things to do and see. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant and also hammam and massage, which were great. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if we return to Marrakech in the future!

The most tranquil place I’ve stayed at! You wouldn’t think you’re in the heart of the medina. It’s a beautiful Riad that accommodated for all our needs. We wholly recommend anyone to do this as it's ideal location equidistant between the old and new part of Town in the hustle and bustle of the Medina means that it's not easy to find on your own.
