La Redorte was on our route and is a very pretty, canalside town that grew when the Canal was a commercial entity. Now given over to pleasure craft the village is quiet and relaxing but with good modern facilities.

"This hotel is perfect for access to the fortified village and castle and within walking distance of the town . Reception staff were helpful and friendly . Car parking is tight, the hotel takes no responsibility if your car is parked in , as ours almost was !"

Great location, comfortable if a little basic.
"We had a two night stay to visit the mediaeval town and found the location of the Cerise Carcassonne Sud excellent for this purpose. The carpark is very large and secure with gates closing from 9 pm. The old town is a 5 minute walk away - very do-able even in the 35 C heat. Our rooms (in block A) ..."

"Hotel is around 40 mins up a hill from the centre of Carcassone and public transport to get there isn’t good. There isn’t much around there so if you don’t have a car be prepared to get a lot of steps in. The room itself could do with a renovation."
