This is a very rustic eco lodge in the Jungle. The natural water fed pools in the middle of the jungle and the jungle cabin feel are quite authentic. The path down to the pool is not easy if you are not in good shape. I recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican jungle experience. The staff was amazing.

Perfect place to stay for lovers of nature, I saw plenty of birds and beautiful plants. Right on a mountain, the most beautiful trails and views, all on the property! I only met William and Anderson there as far as staff but they were both very kind and accommodating! Breakfast was so amazing and fresh!! If you stay here you cannot skip breakfast, balanced and affordable compared to other places in town. Just be aware of the bugs that may sneak in your room.. but it is inevitable so nothing the property could control!!

The worst place we have ever been. The room was dirty, there were water leaks, cracked walls and floors, broken windows, rusty faucets. It rained the whole night and we could hear the loud noise of the water falling on the tin roof. We had a reservation for four nights and stayed just one, after agreement with the director of paying for one night getting the rest of our money our money back. This never happened. We have been calling them for two months now and they just give bad excuses. Staff at the property was really nice and helpful.

Good location with trails and rainforest however this is basically a 1-2 star hotel. They don't clean your room or surroundings once you check in, there is a limit on number of towels and it's far from the town.

Simple facility- beautiful surroundings.

While the room was quite spartan, the grounds are beautiful, as is the large deck with a spectacular view of the volcano, Arenal. The staff, especially Anderson and William, were warm, friendly, immediately responsive. Communal meals were delicious and a fun way to commune with fellow travelers. The only disappointment was the distance from the Arenal national park- a good 40 to 45 minute drive from the resort.

We thought the property was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. The dogs and cats were super nice and loving as well. The ambience was truly wonderful. It was a bit difficult to find staff at times and we never found the pool- but we were gone during the day and the darkness sets in around 6 pm. Overall it was a very cool place to stay and everyone was very friendly.

Very good value for money, very quite and with friendly staff and a location right in the forest. The view from the common areas is spectacular. Has the best natural pool you will find in the forest! Offers dinners for 15$ and breakfast for 7$ The last 400m road to the lodge is a bit rough but doable in all cars

Property is stunning with trails and waterfall, pools and mud bath. Staff is exceptional (esp Anderson). Love the dogs, too (missing you, Princess)!!! Offers breakfast and lunch and there's a nice restaurant only a few steps away (2 for cocktails) Might be best suited for guests younger than I (70 ), but staff was so helpful. This place is absolutely beautiful!

Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge surpassed our expectations. Don William picked us up at the airport on time and drove us the two hours to the ecolodge. We stopped along the way. He and his wife are the nicest people I have ever met. They were kind and attentive to our needs at all times. The hotel feels like we are in the middle of the jungle with the most amazing views of the surroundings and we also were able to see the Arenal Volcano from our balcony. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, tropical and on time.

Skip this eco resort - very rough

Our most disappointing stay in a long time. We were up the hill with our own unit but a main light was missing in the big room, wooden shutters with no screens in bedrooms. H ad to ask owner to come show us how to turn on stove. The pluses - great balcony view, dinner was excellent, breakfast overpriced so we only ate it once. They said 2 swimming pools - 1 was empty and the other had tadpoles. We had roosters under the house that got us stayed early.

I booked this stay after reading many positive reviews, so my expectations were higher than what we experienced. Pros: The property is surrounded by beautiful nature. The trails to the river are lovely, the small river itself is very nice, and birds come right up to the window in the morning. The room feels very immersed in nature. The owner was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to arrive early and store our luggage until the room was ready. Cons: Although the hotel is located in a natural/jungle setting, the room needs better maintenance and cleaning. The electrical outlets were very dirty, the hand soap bottle was dirty, and both the ceiling fan and air vent mesh were very dusty. The bed sheets had stains, and several lights did not work, including the balcony lights, which made arriving at night difficult. The mattress was quite hard. Our room (#6) was the farthest from the main area and required going down steep steps, which may be challenging for guests with knee issues. At night, a flashlight or phone light is needed since common-area lights are turned off. The room has an electric shower, which is common in Latin America, but due to the overall lack of maintenance, the visible wiring near the water raised safety concerns. The shower floor had mold. The room is not level, and the windows are not sealed, so food attracts ants. The pool appeared to have a similar level of maintenance. Other larger rooms on the property may offer a better experience.
