My friend and I had a room with two king beds and the most gorgeous sunset ocean view from our balcony! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served at the same buffet restaurant (plus there’s a beach bar with certain small bites and sandwiches/ burgers/ salads). The food was pretty good, although a bit repetitive. We really loved the resort. The staff was excellent. The house reef was amazeballs!!! I saw a Brazilian reef octopus as well as lots of fish while snorkeling. It’s rocky to get in and out so definitely bring water shoes. We saw several sea turtles at Andrea dive site, too, which we took a boat excursion to snorkel.

The property was beautiful and despite the construction everything was clean and well maintained. Customer service could have been significantly better. It felt like most of the staff didn’t really know what was going on. If you asked the front desk questions about amenities or things offered by the hotel they weren’t able to help. It almost seemed like it was everyone’s first day on the job.

Food and drinks were great. The resort is beautiful. Staff were super helpful with anything needed. Would have given 5 stars but the initial room they put us in had a terrible sour/musty smell. The first staff person I addressed this too told me it was “just an old room”. And they just didn’t seem to understand what I was saying or cared to help. I went to the front desk a little later to find another staff member to have them come by the room to check it out. They understood and moved us to another room immediately. The views were great, the island is beautiful and the people were so nice everywhere we went. Can’t wait to come back once the rest of the resort is done remodeling and bring my parents as well.

I really liked the resort overall, however when we first got there we were given a room that we did not book. It was not clean. I had to go through another two rooms before we got to the room that was up to par with what we chose to begin with. Staff was helpful for the most part but mostly the supervisor Danielle. The amenities are really nice, make sure you get an updated room either deluxe or king suite. Not the grand suite. I would not recommend as I know they are being updated

The staff was great, the food was some of the best resort food I’ve had while vacationing. My only complaint was our room…. The size was great and the beds were very comfortable but there was no privacy for the shower. This wouldn’t have been a problem if it were only my husband and I but our 16 and 17 year old daughters were with us. The shower was on full display of the entire room. We found ourselves having to leave while our girls got ready to give them privacy. No one at the resort seemed to see why this was an issue.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire. The resort was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the all-inclusive food and drinks, the relaxing beach area, and the stunning ocean views. The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a great vacation. The location was convenient and made it easy to enjoy Bonaire’s natural beauty. The only minor downside was that some services could be a little slow during busy times, but overall it did not affect our experience. We would definitely return and recommend this resort to couples looking for a relaxing Caribbean getaway.

The proeprty is very beautiful. It is still being refurbished so yes there is construction but it did not negatively impact our stay. The pool was great, the views were amazing. The shore snorkeling was excellent.

An excellent stay. Food was superb. Staff is wonderful. There is some construction going on but that's because they are improving the property. That work has to get done sometime so we dealt with it. It did not detract from a wonderful week.
