Overall this is an okay place to escape for a short period of time. The staff are nice and helpful, however: - if you do “all inclusive” expect more things to be excluded than included. They are not very generous with this. - very strict hotel policies that impact guest experience. For example we asked for a late checkout and inquired if there was any guest arriving to use the same room that day. The staff said no one was coming to use the room, but if we wanted a late check out it would be charged $50 (USD) to use the room for two more hours. This is just poor hospitality and guest experience management. As soon as check out time came we were charged even for a bottle of water. - amenities: the property itself is great but small things like the gym are in very poor condition. Additionally bar hours are limited and they call close by 11pm. - staff: this is definitely where they do well with very nice staff, but again expect them to follow strict policies with no exception or flexibility.

We had a great stay a this resort. We stayed in the honeymoon villa and it was beautiful. Jacuzzi, pool, and private entrance into the ocean and beach. The highlight was Saturday night dinner and entertainment on the resort beach. We tried some amazing dishes and staff was friendly. My personal favorites were the fried king fish and chicken biryani. I did get food poisoning half way through our stay but it passed within 2 days and the food tasted great. There was a mandatory twice a day clean and spray for pests, which we did appreciate. Julius was an amazng help our entire stay. The only complaints were the fees. We booked full board and that did not include drinks like water. We were also charged a $5 per person/per day tax fee. Also a fee for food not included as well as an additional 10% tax on all food and drinks not included. There was also a $10 fee if you wanted room service. Seemed like a money grab, we spent over $300 after paying 2k for the villa. Alcoholic drinks were inconsistent. Water was leaking form AC. I would recommend still but they could make some adjustments.

They were wonderful and very accommodating to any changes we needed! Loved the spa and pool area. The staff and services were also 10/10! The beach was still under construction but there were many day trips we had booked that brought us to other beaches on the island. I would love to stay here again in the future!

The resort is lovely, staff are all wonderful. The resort is secluded, nice and private. Very quiet, lovely area. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. The resort food was delicious; the gift shop very nice. The pool was very refreshing while the beach was breezy and so comfortable to nap on. I also loved seeing the Masai walking around the property, they were nice and more than happy to take pictures with. I will definitely recommend and return to the resort in the future!

My stay was amazing! The staff were all super friendly and very accommodating! I had a 24 hour butler names Ramadhan, he was THEE BEST! Only downside is that the resort is pretty remote from restaurants, shops, etc so you will have to take a taxi or possibly rent a car. But i would definitely come back!

Great beach. Clean rooms and common areas. Good food. Friendly staff. Overall we had a wonderful time. Things to improve- 1. Access road to the hotel is really bad. 2. All dishes should be named and allergies taken seriously. 3. A table and chair would be useful in the rooms. 4. Gym is very basic. 5. Activities like exercise sessions in the pool, beach yoga, cooking demos will further enhance the value of the Hotel.

This is an isolated resort 90 minutes from town or airport. You will eat all meals here unless you want to drive for s hour. The resort and pools are nice however the beach is bad. Due to low tide you can’t swim until lste afternoon and there is a lot of kelp, sharp rock and sea urchins. Bring water shoes. You can’t snorkel due to choppiness of the water.

I stayed for 7 nights and found the room comfortable. The premises are beautifully maintained, especially the pool and gardens, and the property is very clean throughout. The staff are extremely friendly and approachable—Julius in particular is a real star: a young man always willing to help. Negative points: There is no ATM on site, and reception cannot always break large notes, which made tipping staff difficult. As a result, I wasn’t able to tip as much as I would have liked. Basic amenities such as hair conditioner had to be requested almost daily. TV has basic channels only and was not working properly. Also internet is fast but losing signal quiet often due to electrical faults within the property. The food offers plenty of variety but does not quite meet a 5-star standard. Alcoholic drinks and bottled water are also not included in the package. Overall, I still recommend visiting this beautiful venue by the sea, especially for its peaceful setting and private beach. I will be back for sure!

An absolutely magical stay in one of the Deluxe double rooms. The area is so quiet and the beach is an absolute gorgeous uxury with plenty of loungers, beach bar, and so many pockets across the resort to relax. Made full use of the facilities and 24 hour gym, evening entertainments and boat trips nearby. The room was always so well cleaned both in the morning, and tidied for turn downs, and plenty of variety in the restaurant with options for both more traditional foods and continental. We had the all inclusive package and were fully satisfied at all times! There were power cuts or water cuts most days which was frustrating but regional and we experienced the same at another hotel on the island too. However what put this out of our minds was the quality of service and the staff. There was an undeniably positive attitude and we were always being attended to with great care. For my friends birthday they made a special cake and decorated our table and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and valued!

Wonderful stay, wonderful people.

We had amazing 9 days staying in the Fruit & Spice Well nes Resort. Hotel is very nicely located and is neighbouring beautiful sandy beach. We had stayed in Superior Junior Suite for the first 5 days and each of them has adjacent small sandy area with sunbeds, umbrella and amazing ocean view (rocky shore so you cannot enter the sea). As there were only 4 sunbeds most of the time it was like a private area only for our couple. The food at restaurant was delicious and the choice would satify most people both for breakfast and dinner. There were bars at the lobby, at the pool and on the beach providing soft and alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices. The staff was very kind, friendly (reception, restaurants, pool, all) very responsive and helpful (not offensive). I would like to especially mention Ramson our jungle villa buttler (second part of our stay was in jungle villa) who was absolutely exceptional, proactively helping us with anything we needed, but at the same time respecting our privacy. Thank you Ramson! Sumarizing we loved our stay. One thing we would recommend to the management is to ensure that access to the sea from jungle villas is reconstructed ASAP.

Many common complaints can be avoided by reading details planning ahead, and communicating clearly. I believe in forming my own experience —and I’m so glad I did. My experience was a 10,000/10. The staff and service were exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was professional, patient, and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. Juma, the Front Office Manager, arranged my round-trip airport transfer with Emanuel who shared local history along the way. Juma clearly explained my package and handled a small misunderstanding on my end with patience and helpful solutions. Consolata, the receptionist, welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home immediately. I arrived early, and she personally showed me around the property while sharing its history, which I truly appreciated. Ramso, my butler, was outstanding—attentive, calm, and genuinely caring. When I had a room issue (my mistake), he went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, moving me to a room that exceeded expectations. I would absolutely request him again! Chef Mohammed delivered excellent meals from breakfast to dinner. The food was fresh, authentic, healthy, and flavorful, and his passion truly shows. The hotel is clearly worn out and in need of renovation. The access to the sea from the suites has been closed for quite a while, which is one of the advertised benefits for staying in private villas. The jacuzzi was set at 42 degrees Celsius which made it impossible to use. Because the program was locked I wasn’t able to change it and I never got a staff member to change it. I do not recommend the manicure and pedicure as the quality of product is poorly and staff do not have the knowledge nor the adequate training to do it. Not worth the price. However the resort staff and butler are absolutely fantastic! They are always eager to help and satisfy everyone’s needs! The food is excellent too! Thanks to the staff members I had an excellent stay! Special thanks to Ramso my butler and Yunis the assistant manager of the resort for giving a VIP treat at all times!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon at the Fruit & Spice in Zanzibar. The staff was friendly and helpful. We learned and practiced some basics of the Swahili language thanks to them. We also learned a lot about the culture of the island through our interaction with the staff. The location is great with a nice view of the ocean especially during sunset. The room was specious, comfortable and well maintained, and we really liked the menu for breakfast and dinner, with a good variety of options. We really liked the fact that there is a Maasai village nearby where guests have an opportunity to meet Maasai warriors and ask them about their culture daily. That was very unique experience and we enjoyed every second of our interaction with the Maasai. Although the resort is remote with very few shops around, we felt like we had most of what we needed within the hotel. The access to the beach to swim or for peaceful walks by the water is very convenient and we really enjoyed those. The hotel is beautifully decorated with stylish local themes, with well maintained landscaping and abundant and vibrant nature around. If you like photography, this is paradise. We also felt very safe. I highly recommend the resort. We had a great stay and will definitely stay there again.

Terrible! Save your money and stay elsewhere!

We booked 4 nights from July 11 to July 15, 2024. Only good attribute of facility is the pool area and surrounding grounds. The staff is nice but they do NOT provide the service expected of a 5 star luxury hotel. We were extremely disappointed in spending a lot of money to stay at a 5 star and we received at best, a 3 star experience. We cannot provide a good review of your hotel for the following reasons: 1. Terrible service where it would take 30-45 min for a drink and yet for an all inclusive stay, they charged us for a couple of smoothies we ordered while waiting for our taxi to the airport because we ordered them 1hr after "official checkout". It's embarrassing and classless to behave this way in my opinion. Room had half used toiletries when we first checked in, missing furniture. Didn't respond to our concerns immediately. Food is the same every single meal - has limited taste and appeal. I place the blame 100% on management for the above noted issues as the staff has not been trained on what 5 star service means.

Absolutely amazing! Very quiet during late July, but the staff were so lovely. Food was great, pool, rooms everything just great. Just an absolutely perfect place. Big shout out to the lovely Venson.
