The location is nice, convenient when you want to have a head start on the day. The room was small and very outdated. Very small shower (needed to stay outside when washing my toddler). Towels and bedsheets were clean, but the floor carpet was sticky. I didn’t let my kid take her shoes off. When checking in we needed to wait 30 minutes because the front desk person was also helping the kitchen. The restaurant closes at 8pm and the burger was not great.
We enjoyed the outside chairs and tables next to the river.
We arrived an hour early and were able to check in with adjoining rooms. Beautiful location on King River with lounge chairs to enjoy the views outside. Picnic area is where you can use a propane camp stove to cookout. (No charcoal) Snack bar serves starbucks coffee and there is a cute gift shop with lower prices than the park shops. We enjoyed our stay, 2 elders a young couple and you g adults.
I would be worried of the river if you had young children. And a note that the room doors lock from the inside- old fashioned push button on the handle.
Great value for a low price, and super nicely located in the middle of Kings Canyon.

It’s fortunate that the lodge is in such a beautiful setting and conveniently located. Picnic tables and wooden lounge chairs line the river bank. Access to trails is great! The rangers are amazing! As long as you are not expecting much more than a camping experience inside a building, it’s a decent place.. However, the fact that they have no competition reduces the need to hold themselves to a higher standard. It is not as advertised a deluxe accommodation.
The lodge has the following problems:
1. Room was superficially, clean with thick dust on the windowsills and on the bed frames. The floor looked like it hasn’t been vacuumed in days.
2. The shower did not have hot water. Consequently, our showers were tepid at best.
3. We were promised a partial refund because of the shower issue. It never happened.
3. We were charged for hot water from the kitchen that we needed to make coffee in the morning.
5. The price was supposed to a continental breakfast which had been discontinued and the site not updated.
Plus side
1. The food from the deli counter was adequate
2. The attached store had a decent selection of beverages and great ice cream selection
3. King’s Canyon makes all these minor problems recede into the background. Just don’t expect luxury.
The location of Cedar Grove Lodge is wonderful. There is a market and restaurant. The food was great. Natural beauty is stunning! We’ll be back for more!

It was as a great place for an overnight. Lovely places to relax and enjoy the river without camping. It’s an isolated location, be flexible.

The location is very good, quiet and with continental breakfast.it just need to be updated interior wise.
I really loved my stay at this lodge. The rooms were nice enough but not fancy but the location was great. We did see a bear from the lodge which the rangers drove off. It had a great view next to the river.
My husband and I were out “glamping”. The accommodations were really nice for our needs. Comfy and clean. The lounge chairs near the river were relaxing and charming.
Convenient for exploring the Cedar Grove area of park, beautiful on the river. Convenient having restaurant-good food! Was also nice having the market there with frozen food & microwave in the market to use. Air conditioning wonderful in room. Very basic room but perfect for exploring this beautiful area of park. Mist Falls trail at Roads End was awesome!
Yes, it’s dated, but the location could not be beat and the comfortable bed was most welcome at the end of a long day. There was unexpectedly both WiFi and AC (which was particularly welcome on a very hot day), and the market opened at 7, allowing my very well-rested self to grab a quick breakfast before checking out and hitting the trail early that morning. Would 100% stay here again.

This is a National Park Lodge. It is very basic but the location is perfect if you wish to enjoy the park and get an early start on some hiking.
The room was basic but nice and clean, staff was friendly and food was decent.
Overall this worked out well for us but based upon the price the facilities and the rooms are very outdated. Location was great and they had a store and grill for food.
We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Grove. The river just outside the lodge was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms could use updating but the staff and the view were excellent. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Picturesque scenery
Best possible location. The Check-in staff were wonderful. The hotel is older and could use some remodeling. Food options are very limited and the grill staff are not the most polite or engaging. The views and the drive to get here outweigh the negatives.
Excellent location on the roaring Rapids River.
Great friendly staff, fantastic reasonably priced Café, delicious pulled pork with a bottle of wine on the river. Best to drive here in a sports type car, preferably convertible.
We had a wonderful stay!!! Thank you very much!!!
Great location, thankful for the snack bar that had great food options. I would recommend the place to friends. It’s old and you have to look beyond that I guess. The beds were comfortable and clean.

The hotel was as expected, a little outdated but still great option if staying in the park. Beautiful surrounding, friendly staff. Would be nice to have mini fridges in the room or at least an ice machine somewhere in the hotel. Gift shop has everything you might need including frozen food and microwave. Would definitely stay again.
