The hotel was in a perfect spot to walk to the beach. Conveniently located to go either north or south on to explore the area of the outer banks.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
The location and proximity to the beach was perfect! The first night we were in far building (129 & 131) and it was great. We were on both sides of the custodian closet and never heard any neighbors and traffic was low in the area. Loved the walkout balcony.
We decided to stay an extra night and Had to move rooms (we were totally fine with moving). The second night we were in rooms 117 & 225. These were not near as good as the first night. We could easily hear everything the neighbors were saying and their TV until 3am. 117 is also right by the stairs, so it sounds like a herd of cattle going up and down constantly. There is also a corn hole game right outside the door. All we heard from the time we checked in until midnight was the “thunk” sound of the bag hitting. We couldn’t open the blinds because people would stare right into the room as they played and the played all day long. The interior was very nice in both rooms and very clean (main building rooms were slightly smaller). All that to say I would recommend staying in the separate building, not the main building.
Breakfast was nice with lots of options.
Best part of the stay (besides the proximity) was Samantha at the front desk. She was so kind and went above and beyond. When we decided to stay an extra night, she worked out the bookings and even called us when the room was ready early!
Honestly, if we would have had the same rooms the second night, it would have been a 10/10 stay.

Great location and easy access to the beach. Property is well-kept. The room was nice and updated. Our room was in the tower and we paid a bit more for a dune view with balcony. The balcony was covered in water due to a/c draining so we couldn’t enjoy it. Also, the configuration of the bathroom was odd and extremely small. The bathroom sink/toilet was literally at the front door of the room.
Included breakfast was very convenient. Breakfast area (both indoors and outdoors) was clean and well-maintained. Bedrooms were clean and well-maintained. Two suggestions - investigate the amount or water on the outside walkways coming from AC units and try and reduce the loud slamming of doors due to the door closers.
Perfect location—minutes to many restaurants and shopping and right on the beach! Walkway to the beach was very helpful! Staff was friendly checking in, at breakfast and cleaning the room. Room was spacious but the bathroom was super tiny. Also the lock to the back door for the patio was insanely hard to lock.
I booked the room several weeks before our arrival, and received a phone call that they overbooked the junior suite that we intentionally booked to accommodate my mother-in-law with a wheelchair. Shutters overbooked the room for the first night that we were to be there, but did put us in a different Room for the first night and we had to relocate the second night and third night for our stay. While it was very inconvenient, they did what they could to make the situation correct with us.
Great location, very easy to get to beach for sunrise and star gazing. Large room for family of 4. Not busy section of the beach. Convenient complimentary breakfast. Great back porch option for morning coffee. Lifeguards around area for piece of mind.
Annoying leaky air conditioner drips, small old bathroom. Less than responsive house keeping.

Room was near a loud busy swimming pool area. Hotel had beachfront access but did not offer guests beach towels for use. No complimentary bottles of water like competitors
While the rooms at this hotel may appear nice at first glance, there is a serious and dangerous safety issue on the property. During my stay, I slipped and fell down a set of stairs due to excessive water accumulation—likely from leaking AC units and runoff from the pool deck. The fall caused a severe injury to my back, resulting in an open wound and a permanent 6x2-inch scar.
Three out of the six days of my vacation were ruined because I was in pain and dealing with an untreated, bleeding wound caused directly by the hotel’s negligence. The walkways and stairs around the rooms are extremely slick—especially with even a trace of sunscreen or rain—which makes them a major slipping hazard.
To make matters worse, the management’s response was completely inadequate. I was handed a couple of bandages and wraps and sent on my way. They showed little concern for the injury or my well-being and promised to follow up—yet I’ve heard nothing since.
This kind of neglect is unacceptable. I strongly caution future guests to be extremely careful if you choose to stay here—or better yet, consider booking somewhere else entirely. Your safety may depend on it.
