"Location is good, opposite is the ski resort, which has good snow. Overall room was well maintained, public Onsen was nice too. However we came during early ski season, there is barely any restaurants opens. Hotel cafe food is a bit expensive, and not much choice (mainly western). If plan to stay may order half board instead, or tell hotel staff to reserve dinner before 10am"

"We were here for a couple of days and had a wonderful stay! The place is kept clean, and it sits right by the ski hill. Nothing beats a soak in the hot public bath after a day of skiing. Also loved the breakfast and dinner! The gem though was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and went out of the way to help us. "

"My stay at Wafu-no-Yado Masuya was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Yamanouchi, this ryokan offers a peaceful retreat with authentic Japanese charm. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm hospitality and impeccable service. Their kindness and attentiveness made me feel truly welcome. The rooms are beautifully designed in a traditional Japanese style, complete with tatami mats and futon beds. I especially loved the private outdoor onsen.
