Pros: spectacular views, good amounts of space, clean and with functional aircon. Downside: 80s throwback in desperate need of repair and refurb, stranded on top of hill, with disappointing breakfast and patchy communication from the albeit quite friendly owners.

Wir haben wundervolle 2 Wochen in Villa Forestata verbracht.Es hat alles gestimmt, das Studio war sehr geräumig, die Küche gut ausgestattet , der Kühlschrank groß und der Blick wunderbar.Es wurde täglich saubergemacht , frische Handtücher alle 2 Tage ( oder nach bedarf), alle paar Tage frische Bettwäsche . Das Frühstück war OK , aber das Abendessen( wir haben meistens im Haus gegessen) war unschlagbar. Christos hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt und die familiäre Atmosphäre ist nicht mit einem 08/15 Restaurant vergleichbar.Alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt , aber die gegrillte Seebrasse hat jede Erwartung übertroffen . Der Garten ist sehr groß , man kann dort abends gemütlich sitzen ,ein Wein trinken und die wunderschöne Landschaft bewundern . Parkmöglichkeiten sind genügend. Da es auf dem Berg ist, braucht man selbstverständlich ein Auto, die Entfernungen sind aber nicht groß . Bis in Lixouri / Fähre cca 10 min. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, man hört nur die zirkaden und das Geläut der Schafe. Wir können diese wunderbare Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen, besonders den, die auf individuellen Urlaub stehen und Ruhe suchen. Da es um einen familiengeführtes Haus geht, hat man die Möglichkeit an der griechischen Lebensart teilzunehmen , was lustig ist ! Vielen Dank an Christos und seiner Familie !

top: Die Lage, Auto jedoch zwingend naja: Die Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen, für diesen Preis bekommt man sicherlich bessere Unterkünfte. Die Familie ist sehr bemüht und nett (ausser der zuständige für die Buchhaltung, scheint immer etwas schlecht gelaunt zu sein und schreit permanent herum, etwas mühsam dieser junge Herr). Frühstück war im Vergelich zu anderen Unterkünften in Griechenland ein Witz, viel zu wenig Auswahl. Das kostenpflichtige Abendessen war hingegen top!

Super nette Besitzer, die alles tun, damit man sich als Gast wohl fühlt. Gleich bei der Ankunft gab es Karten Material und Ausflugstipps, die allesamt richtig gut waren. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas außerhalb von Lixouri in einem Bergdorf mit Meerblick. Aber ein Auto braucht man sowieso auf der Insel. Schöner großer Garten mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten und Hängematte. Die Zimmer sind sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, gut funktionierende Klimaanlage. Wlan vorhanden. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Great for families and couples

Villa Forestata sits above the town of Lixouri which is opposite a small stretch of water from the capital Argostoli. Note that the inter-island ferry port of Poros is a 50 minute drive over the mountains to Argostoli, and although you can drive around the gulf to get to Lixouri, it is quicker to get the 15 minute ferry ... less driving and a better experience. Needless to say, you need a car. Villa Forestata is 10 minutes away from the town, with a fantastic view of the water. It is quiet, clean and best of all run by a couple of local sisters who are terrific hosts. The dinners were home-made and delicious. We will be back.

Familien geführte Pension mit herlichen Ausblick und schönen Garten . Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Familie , wir haben uns sehr wohl gefüllt. Auto ist umbedingt erforderlich da etwas einsam am Berg daher was für Ruhe suchende. Ab und zu ein paar Flugzeuge ( aber nicht laut) . Die Insel Kefalonia ist für uns die grünste und schönste Insel .

Fantastic location with great views across the Gulf of Paliki towards the mountains. Well maintained spacious studio apartment which was serviced regularly. The villa and the 6 apartments could be described as ecotourism anywhere else with solar power and solar heating . A daily highlight was a breakfast buffet provided by the host on the sunny terrace - which was fresh and mostly sourced from the surrounding orchards and olive groves. An Idyllic peaceful setting. The host was very accomodating and explained everything in English. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her.

Appartamenti immersi nel verde e nel silenzio

Esperienza fantastica. Gli appartamenti sono stati recentemente ristrutturati, con un ottimo WiFi, anche se mancherebbe qualche dettaglio o accorgimento. Tuttavia la meraviglia di questa Villa è il luogo ove è situato ed il silenzio e la vista che si gode. Un piccolo paradiso, rallegrato dalla presenza di Vally e Lina che preparano la colazione ogni mattina con marmellate ed altri prodotti fatti da loro. Un ambiente informale e famigliare, dove ti senti a tuo agio. Infine il grande giardino può essere sfruttato anche per fare grigliate.

Stanze spaziose, posizione e vista meravigliose!

La vista all'arrivo è mozzafiato. Benché sia in collina, in 5 minuti di macchina si arriva in centro a Lixouri. L'atmosfera è incantevole. La colazione è semplice ma genuina. Il rapporto qualità - prezzo ottimo.

Tolle große Villa in ruhiger Umgebung

Wir waren 10 Tage Gast im Forestata. Wir hatten ein Sehr geräumiges Zimmer im Dachgeschoss. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und mit allen notwendigen Ausgestattet. Gute Leise Klimaanlage. Es gab ein ausreichendes Frühstück und die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit bei allem was man wissen möchte. Man sollte einen Mietwagen haben da die Pension etwas außerhalb auf einem Berg gelegen ist. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt und können es weiterempfehlen. Alles war sauber und liebevoll hergerichtet. Und es gibt ein paar sehr niedliche Katzen

Friendly hotel nice location

The hotel is outside Lixouri. It has fantastic views and the apartment was very comfortable clean and functional. All people there were very friendly and helpful - they made our stay more enjoyable. The accommodation offers breakfast and I must say that all the homemade delicacies were yummy. We had wifi with no problems all the time. Locationwise Lixouri is amazing with lots of places to dine coffee and drinks.
