  • I took this photo in Messinia, Greece in summer 2016. It's of Voidokilia Beach and it's surroundings. Voidokilia Beach is on the Peloponnese peninsula and it was the most picturesque beach that I visited during that Greek trip, which was almost exclusively in Messinia. On that mountain is Nestor's Cave and above this are the ruins of a 13th-century Frankish castle (Old Navarino or Palaiokastro). Look closely and you will see :). I didn't get to walk up there. It was brutally hot that day and I spent most of the time at the beach. But, I did make time for some hiking. Near where I took this photo there was a lot of medieval or ancient ruins. Near those beautiful rocks. I had to be careful when walking on them, but it was worth it!

This was our last stop when visiting Greece. In addition to being a spectacular area, this hotel checks all of the boxes. It is modern, clean, comfortable and has a few touches that make it nice to come back to after a day touring or at the beach. Beautiful views and excellent breakfast served to the room each a.m. Owners are lovely and dedicated to making both the property and your stay enjoyable.

We can’t thank the owners enough. Panagiotis and his beautiful wife were lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The room was immaculate and beautifully appointed, blending modern luxury with cozy comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens crisp and clean, and the view from our window and balcony was simply stunning. Housekeeping was prompt, discreet, and consistent throughout our stay. What truly set this hotel apart was the level of service. They remembered our name, our preferences, and were always one step ahead with thoughtful suggestions and assistance. The hotel’s amenities were top-notch serene, spotless, and offered us a place to unwind. Breakfast in the mornings was impressive, with plenty of local farm to table options and exceptional organic quality. Our taste buds we in heaven daily. Location-wise, the hotel couldn’t be better situated — close enough to the town of Finikounda, restaurants and several beaches but tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and exclusive. In every aspect, this stay exceeded our expectations and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. We’ll absolutely be returning — it’s rare to find a place that gets everything right. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Finikounda area, this is it. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
