"Beautiful rustic cottages that had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. So convenient that its just down the road from Kumeu Valley Estate, where we had our wedding."

"The whole place is very run down. Very tatty and falling to bits. One of the beds did not have clean sheets and we had to use a sleeping bag on the mattress. No soap - only shampoo and moisturiser. Luckily we brought our own. One of the lights in the bedroom began flicking and fizzing. No smoke alarms present. Several windows missing latches and could not be closed properly. We were asked to pay a $100 "bond" and he wanted to take a photo of my credit card! Very dodgy - don't agree to it. Water coming out of tap was almost non existent. Took quite a while to fill up the kettle. Coffee sachets provided were revolting and suspect many years old. I would not recommend staying here. Probably the worst place we've stayed at. Never again."
"We arrived at our room (21613) to find the fridge was warm, and when we walked into the bathroom there was a very unpleasant odour. After spending about an hour with maintenance staff trying to resolve the issues, we were eventually moved to a new room.
The new room was much better overall, however the bathroom extraction fan was not working either. My only other concern was the cleanliness around the toilet area — the tiles on either side of the toilet clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, as there was visible urine residue left from previous guests.
Breakfast at Eight Restaurant was also disappointing. My coffee order was forgotten, and after waiting around 40 minutes, I asked about it. I then watched the waiter flick back through several pages to find the order. Once it was finally made, it sat on the counter for several more minutes until I eventually went up and collected it myself.
The staff were polite and did try to help, but overall there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail with both housekeeping and service, which made the stay less enjoyable than expected."
"Noisey heat pump and note complimentary water is t the water in the fridge you need to phone reception for it !! Otherwise was a great stay and location"
"We booked two nights here but one night would have been sufficient. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the views are fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was dated and the entire resort has seen better days. Dinner was a mixed bag; the salmon main was delicious but the pork belly was all fat and the vegetables overcooked. We ate out on our second night. We had breakfast included and it was mediocre at best. The pastries were stale and the continental selections were limited. Our cooked items were pretty tasty and we left feeling like we’d had plenty to eat. We wouldn’t recommend staying here when there are plenty of other accommodation options throughout the Waitakere area to choose from."
"Very clean new hotel. Loved the steam room. No interaction with any staff except a lone front desk pleasant guy. Room was big enough. There's a mall 10 min walk away. Breakfast wasn't part of my booking.
Very disappointed in the wifi. Couldn't get on it & weirdly locked me out of my own provider. I was with a large group who all seemed to complain about the same problem."
