It is very convenient location if you have early flight or want to stay close to the airport. The free shuttle is easy to locate, just a short walk from the arrival hall. The breakfast is great with many choices. I stayed there 2 times during my 2 month trip in Africa and definitely I will stay there again.

Airport shuttle was efficient. Bar/restaurant served excellent food. Breakfast was included and there were many options including an omelet station. The shower was fabulous. Lots of hot water and good pressure. The room was clean. Small but that is normal in this area of the world. It was very convenient to the airport as we were there only a day and a half before continuing our journey. If you are looking for a nice, clean room while transiting Joburg, you will be pleased.

Comfortable beds and classy bed linen . Terrible buffet and poor service in ‘restaurant’ with no a la carte offering. Hotel is tired and needs modernising. The shuttle was very quick from and two airport (5 minutes) but you should be able to walk it, but there is no footpath)you can throw a stone from the hotel to the airport!!!

I had the best stay at the Southern Sun Hotel 🏨..The staff were amazing and the food was excellent. The rooms were more than up to standard.
