This place is so fantastic! It's just as great as the photos make it seem! Before a safari in Kruger, I stayed in a regular room, and after the safari I stayed in the log cabin! Try to get the log cabin if you can!! Everyone is very friendly, and it's got all mod cons! Highly recommended!!

Ohhh, this place is SO FANTASTIC!! The way it's set up made me feel like my safari had already begun...in the middle of Johannesburg and close to the airport!!! I love everything about it, the friendly staff, the 24 hour coffee set up, the bungalow-type rooms. I stayed there twice, and if I ever go to SA again, there's no other place I'd stay!! Highly, highly recommended!!!

Personal friendly service. Tomle picked me up promptly from airport, helped me make safari arrangements and provided a warm atmosphere. Everyone there was nice, friendly and helpful.

Don’t stay

The freeway was right down the street from the hotel, not a nice neighborhood, sirens all night. Dump trucks, horns blowing, airplanes overhead all night, flies in the room. Would not ever stay again.

Old, motel like "lodge", with nice service

The "lodge" is more like an old motel, with 2 thatched roof buildings that make it look lodgy on the photo's. The area Kempton park isn't great and the lodge is quite old, the building, the furniture, everything is old. The service was quite good, with a prompt pickup and dropoff service tot the airport and the employees were nice. If i had realised the area which it is in I would not have booked it.

Everything was fine but the disappointment was no evening meal that we used to look forward to. Hope they can restore that soon. We had a take-away instead and the dining room was set for us. Thanks for that.

DON’T STAY HERE!!! Very unsafe neighbourhood. No complimentary transfers available as car was broken. Front security gate was broken. Location is not three minutes from the airport as it claims to be. No way this is a four star place. Room door only has a glass door with a flimsy internal door lock. Man tried to enter our room. We arrived, had a look and left after 5 minutes to a safer environment. Please don’t be fooled by the pretty pictures and convenient options on the Expedia listing. I strongly advise you not to stay here. I was shocked and quite afraid.

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is casual. At this time there is no lunch or dinner service. The breakfast options are limited but it is easy for vegetarians to have a good breakfast. There is a continuing problem with "power shedding" in Johannesberg. This occured at least twice a day. At this time, the property has to use a generator for power which ensures there is power to, keep the lights on. so to speak. Unfortunately, there is no internet at this time. They have a vehicle with driver who was available to take us to and from the airport, or out for a meal. The area was quiet except for the fact, it was under the flight path of planes taking off. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here.
