Don't expect the glamor of the lobby photo online--that is very good photography, but the reality is a bit less grand. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but Pakistan is not as advanced as some of its neighbors when it comes to tourist infrastructure. (It was two days before I saw anyone who wasn't South Asian in Islamabad--there just isn't that much tourism, or even that much international business, at least that I could see. There is only one bank where you can withdraw from a foreign account, etc.) But by the local standards this is a good hotel, and although the powere went out for a few seconds several times a day, and the internet was slow, everything worked, the food was excellent, and the staff, as I say, superb.
IFQ was okay. The service was good just very inconvenient due to phones being down. Each time we needed something we had to go down to reception area. The room light system was confusing. It would be nice to have some instructions since nothing was labeled. Overall this is a good place to stay.
