"The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, whether at reception, in the breakfast area or at the bar.
I’ve stayed here before and have always found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well maintained. This time, I booked a twin room as that was the only option available to me. I was expecting two standard single beds, but they were actually larger than expected and probably the perfect size for one person.
Parking is £8 per day, which I think is very reasonable considering the convenience of being able to park at the hotel.
Overall, another really comfortable stay and I would happily stay here again."
"Always stay here when Ipswich area - business and family, this latest stay being the latter. 2 x rooms x 2 nights.
5* overall as a stay however, whereas normally I’m full of praise for staff, this stay felt different.
Welcome was perfunctory at best but probably better described as less than friendly. Only one member of staff hit the usual high standards. I did mention to her and she explained that the chap who was particularly miserable doesn’t usually work days and does nights instead. One of his colleagues was equally miserable. My suggestion is that the management team work hard to ensure consistency. It’s nice to feel welcome."
"Good place to stay sauna, spa, pool very relaxing could do with some music in these areas.
Outside areas look tired, need some tlc, bushes in garden rooms in need of being
Tidied up ."
"Great stopover, the hallway was quite noisy especially in the morning with doors banging, but that was more to do with other guests then the hotel.
Also the rooms overlooking Yarmouth Road, had quite alot of traffic noise, so would recommend sleeping with the Air con on or requesting a room on the other side of the complex"
"I had a wonderful visit to Retreat East. The room was wonderful and I took advantage of the free hot tub, steam and sauna. The food for dinner was exceptional and the continental breakfast (also included in the price) was varied and plentiful. I would recommend Retreat East to anyone."
"The staff where very attentive, helpful, and nothing with a problem,
My partner and I stayed one night for our two year anniversary, and we where giving an upgrade room, with Rose petals in the roon with a card wishing us happy anniversary.
The hotel is beautiful and Is surrounded by beautiful gardens.
I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel especially for a special romantic break"
