Liked: Room comfort
The room was as expected. Good location and views. Had researched this so knew parking was nearby which was fine.
Obviously recently refurbished but it must have been on a tight budget. Everything seemed to be done cheaply and not very well. Disappointed that the decor didn’t do justice to such a historic building
Harbour Lights was an experience we will never forget! Kyle at reception was beyond helpful, writing a lengthy list of attractions, ensuring we had a suitable room and switched us to their sister hotel The Royal Britannia. John was also amazing sharing some local favourites and chatting away each time we crossed paths. Our room and ensuite was huge and beautiful, with a large bay window and seating overlooking the harbour. The restaurant downstairs had amazing barkeeps that smiled and chatted friendly each time we requested a jug of ice to chill our drinks. Bed was comfortable, room was clean with access to fresh towels and linens whenever needed. 11/10 will HIGHLY recommend to anyone!

Room was OK, basic and functional. Wooden floors throughout, meant that there was much noise from other rooms and the landing. Mostly due the fact that a school group of maybe 12-13 year old boys were staying.
They were really careful about keeping everyone safe. Room was spotless and had everything I needed. Only one downside. Just be aware that the third floor is a long way up to have to carry your luggage! The guest house is perfectly positioned for the harbour
Harbour lights is a nice comfy hotel very close to harbour and local bars restaurants act. Steve a Ruth, the hosts are friendly and helpful. Ilfracombe is a great place to stay for walking the fantastic coastal path Recommended
Attentive staff, an excellent central location near the harbour and well prepared clean rooms made this a very pleasant two night stay. We would most certainly book again next time we visit ! Communication prior to staying was excellent including thorough directions, information about the room and an unexpected call just before we arrived (on time) to say the room was ready and did we need any help.
good welcome from one of the owners,,,,,,taken to the room. immediate saw v v tired and unclean carpet ,,,,,,,,,,,,,not decorated since 2000 I think ,,,,,,,,,carpet not cleaned likewise ....
food presented well and cooked well
dining room for breakfast ,,dull , dark and old,, unfortunately no ammout of good staff will not or cannot hide this .
all clean linen but pillows need protectors , not nice sleeping on recent users night dribble. towels and sheets clean and laundered ,,,plenty of hot water,
room v v small for two, had I not paid 50% had I not paid 50% up fron t would not have stayed ,,,
Lovely comfortable stay close to shops restaurants
Plenty to do here at harbour lights as it is situated central to everything eg harbour, shops, restaurants, sea and beach and beautiful walks around the cliff.
A BRILLIANT STAY WITH A WARM WELCOME. NOTHING IS TOO MUCH. RIGHT IN THE CENTRE OF THE QUAY SO EASILY ACCESSIBLE ANYTIME OF THE DAY. WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING THERE AGAIN.
