This hotel has seen better days. I expect better conditions in a Marriott property. We were placed in a first floor room with a terribly stained carpet. A strong smell hit us as soon as we opened the door. The room was so humid that the pillows and bed cover felt damp. We finally decided to switch rooms when we realized that our door would not lock. The staff was kind and polite and switched us immediately. The next room on the second floor was much better, but still had an odd cabbagy smell. The upside - the bathrooms were clean.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Cons of my stay there are no microwaves in the rooms, the only microwave available is in the lobby and it was pretty dirty. Also breakfast is not complimentary, there is a bistro in the hotel but you have to purchase all meals including coffee, so that was disappointing.

The check-in was unsatisfactory. The assigned room had not been cleaned and prepared when I arrived. However, the front desk clerk was very efficient in correcting the situation, and the remainder of our stay was satisfactory. To me this is the best place to stay in Huntsville. Super convenient to downtown and major highways. You can see some age in the facilities but I think it’s Huntsville’s best kept secret. I always try to book here
