"1. Room had cat hair and cat food on the carpet and under the couch 2. Room did not have hot water for showers in the AM. 3. Shower water was scalding hot on the lowest setting (when there was hot water). 4. Stayed for 5 nights (Tuesday - Saturday), two nights had wedding receptions and one night there was a high school prom. Common areas looked trashed the next day (beer bottles, confetti and trash littered about). Also - loud music till late and just filled with loud people. 5. Rooms had phones removed recently (according to staff), and nobody answered the phone at front desk, so any requests meant having to walk down to the front office to speak to someone 6. The “pub” charges an extra 8£ to bring your food to your room (this service is free most places). There is quite a bit more but I will just write it off as “charm” because it’s such an old building. The lady who did our checking Tuesday evening was fantastic (she even held the door open for my family and I on several occasions without being asked). The grounds were also stunning and well groomed, but the littered confetti/beer bottles/pint glasses really dampened the experience. Final note - the grounds has a “well” in it, when looking down it’s just filled with trash… Not sure why, but that was disgusting. Overall - would not recommend or stay here again whatsoever."

"We were given a wheelchair friendly room although we are not disabled, grey decor a bit depressing. Compensated for by large telly, fridge, more plug sockets than I have ever seen in a hotel room, including a European socket. Breakfast very good with coffee machine with real milk instead of powdered milk. Had to pay for parking but process straightforward, unlike at Novotel where we stayed next, which was a nightmare."

"The hotel was comfortable, clean and close to the airport. It was a short walk to the terminal and the number 100 bus into Edinburgh stopped almost outside, which was handy. We stayed two nights and made the mistake of eating breakfast at the hotel the first morning, but I wouldn't recommend it. The price of the breakfast was £15 extra per person and it was extortionate for the cost. The yoghurt had run out, and so many of the other options were half empty and never got refilled while we were there."

"We got this room at a bargain price and just expected somewhere cheap and cheerful to lay our heads. I was so pleasantly surprised. The room was impeccably clean. The beds extremely comfortable and I liked how the single bed was hidden away from the double. The hotel was very well maintained. The lobby leading up to the rooms was however unbearably hot which meant our room was quite warm. Due to being near a through road we could not leave the windows open due to the traffic noise. This is the only slight negative in an otherwise perfect stay. Highly recommend, will book again if in the area."

"Clean room, the staff were lovely, and very helpful. The hotel was quiet when we stayed, no noise through the night. We had a full breakfast, which was included in the price, it was plenty! Parking is free for the length of your stay, but make sure you log in at the desk on the digital pad with your registration number. Definitely would stay there again if the need arises!"
