We had to walk up 42 steps to get to our room carrying our baggage. The place is adequate but dated and the hot water difficult to adjust safely. A window in our room was ajar and there was rot and mold around the frame which caused us to leave it that way. There is no one attending the front desk as the person who checked us in did double duty in the restaurant. The food was fine.

There was no one on reception and had to phone to get someone to check us in. I had arranged a couple of weeks before to check in early. The room was clean but in need of being updated as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was okay but the food was not very hot.

Very nice stay. Clean, quiet, nice staff. The large St George flag in reception area was inappropriate and suggested it should be removed.

Restful Stop

It was my first visit and only stayed one night. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. I had a good night's sleep. I would stop here again.

Raven inn hook

Room good size, quiet. Close to railway station and supermarket. Shower tiny but manageable although not sure if it was mould there.

The property was good but would benefit from a refresh. The staff were excellent and really helpful. The food was also very good. My only complaint is aimed at Expedia (not the hotel) - I needed to make changes to my booking but despite hotel staff efforts we failed. Next time, I will book directly with the hotel.

Just really dirty hotel, almost shockingly so. Staff are friendly enough but the cleaning staff are non existent. Breakfast is left out for the duration so if you don’t mind sharing your food with fruit flies or whatever else may fall on it, then you’re ok (literally just a bit of cling film would solve this issue)

Raven Hotel Hook - Average

The Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is dated and shows signs of wear and tear but its still to a good standard. The bathroom was not cleaned properly; there was a gritty stain, possibility a cleaning scrub, all around the sink and dirt stains on the floor. The milk sashes in the room had gone off so i could not make myself a tea. The bedroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is in the adjoining pub and this was very dirty. Its not just worn down but needs a good dust and hoover. It put me off having a cooked breakfast so i just had toast which took forever to brown and the toaster adjustment was broken.

Not a great Greene king hotel

In need of modernisation, the bathroom sealant all needed changing, the doors to the room are in a bad state of repair as is some of the decor. The security to the hotel and the hotel room leave alot to be desired and quite worrying, we came back at about 22.30, you could walk straight into the reception, up the stairs to the hotel rooms where the only protection the room had was a flimsy lock that anyone could get into, so I feel your belongings and personal safety are at risk. To be fair, it looks like a hotel that's used for workers throughout the week. The walls were paper thin, you can hear everything from the room next door and somebody must have had dogs cause we heard alot of howling. It's just a grubby hotel, I wouldn't go back there, the only plus side is you are a thirty second walk to the train station and there's an amazing Indian restaurant across the road. The pub attached to this hotel, wasn't great either.

Will never stay here again, you shouldn’t either

There was no one at reception on arrival, sign on desk saying to call a mobile number. Hotel felt very unsafe, seen someone at reception twice in the morning however no one there in the evening or at night, had to go out to my car to get something around 11pm and door wide open with no one at reception meaning anyone could just walk in off the street. Asked a girl in the restaurant if they did takeaway food which could be eaten in room, was told no which is fine but was looked at like I had horns growing out my head for asking the question. After checking out hotel worker came out to my car to tell me there was an additional charge to be paid but could not tell me what it was for, I didn’t eat at the hotel at any point so didn’t pay the extra charge. The room had multiple marks on the wall including a dead bug smushed in, bathroom was very unclean! Floor needed a good wash and the bath tap and shower head was disgusting. Went down to reception on my way back out a little while after checking in to complain but no one was there. Thankfully bedding was clean otherwise I would have moved rooms or left hotel completely. Room was roasting with no air con. Whole hotel needs refurbished and a locking system on the entrance to make guests safer is no one is going to work at reception at all times. Only good thing about hotel was easy parking.

First impressions of the hotel entrance and reception were a bit negative. It was like walking into a 1980s office that was very outdated and shabby, but it was clean, tidy and the receptionist who checked me in was great. Given how the reception was i was apprehensive about what my room would be like, but actually my room was great and the bed excellent which nuce linen and pilows. There was a strong smell of cleaning products as i entered my room which i did not like but after a while i forgot about this. All in all for the price i paid i was satisfied. The hotel is easy to find.

Great hotel/location

We always stay at the Raven when visiting my daughter in Odiham. Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Plenty of parking space (free) and the bonus of the restaurant/pub being joined to the hotel.

For the price the raven was ok but room needed a bit of TLC. Food was good if a little pricey. Staff although young were very good.

Booked a table for dinner, all good until main course was cleared. Asked bout deserts, nobody then came near us gor the next 90 minutes until we went to leave, no would you like to order would you like more drinks eould you like uour bill, not a thing!!
