Great stay at Hørby Færgekro

First of all, the waterfront location is second to none - one of a kind. The view over the fjord towards i.a. the lights from Holbæk city. The service is top notch. The restaurant too. And the breakfast inviting and tasty. Local products in both the kitchen and among the drinks in the restaurant. See you again. As soon as possible. One note: very, very friendly prices, in general. As always with Comwell hotels, excellent staff make all the difference. The hotel is new, that is noticeable. Well-appointed with high quality furniture, lighting and fixtures. Excellent insulation: Although the hotel was full and my room was right next to the elevator I could not hear a single sound. One point to mention: On friday evening the bar area was hopelessly understaffed. Two bar staff had to take orders, serve food and drinks and shake cocktails for about 50 guests which led to delays. Nevertheless they handled it well and remained efficient and friendly throughout. My compliments, this is a well-run establishment.

This hotel is geared towards local groups like wedding parties etc. They don't necessarily provide adequate service for travellers. That was our experience. English is spoken but all documents are in Danish only. Hotel's restaurant is nice and close to the sea but that is of no use if you don't get anything to eat. When we arrived around 6:30 pm and asked if there is a meal available they refused to provide anything even there was plenty of tables free. They insisted that the place is full. No room service was available either. In the welcome message they said that hotel guests have a table reservation automatically but that appeared to be a lie. Coffee was supposed to be free but only if enjoyed in our room. So we had to travel more than 10 km to the city to get a dinner. The breakfast was minimal. All in all the place looks nice and is clean but be warned about service shortcomings. We were disappointed.
