"All fine, but was expecting to find 2 comfortable chairs in the room. Instead there was just 1. I asked why and was told the room had recently been updated and the new "policy" was to only include 1 such chair per room. They had clearly used an old photo showing 2 chairs and reception apologized, not that that helped my situation. Other than that all as expected. Would I consider returning? Yes I would."

"Our greeting was indicative of our overall experience. Courtesy combined with curiosity to discover what we hoped to find not only at the hotel, but also from the wider environment. Plans were hatched and all the staff contributed to a delightful happy hour cocktail; a sensational meal at a locally suggested restaurant and a good night's sleep. The hotel receptionist was a gem, who one day should be managing her own establishment, while the barman was very accommodating. We are going to return soon. Thank you."

"Room was clean when arrived apart from the spoons and cup being dirty which was not good so I had to ask to get replaced. The hotel is under construction so bear in mind that there is alot of building work and people about so if your looking for a quiet get away this is totally your choice as there is alot of people there which i found overwhelming . Breakfast was good apart from there was no cups for like getting juice or water so had to take the tea cups thats on the table which wasnt really ideal but other than that stay was pleasant just didn't like how busy this hotel is , also this hotel has got a gym and spa and bear in mind it gets very very busy here and looking for parking there is very limited so either leave the car park or risk losing your spot nonetheless it was all good but could be better."

"At 06:30 each morning, individuals in other rooms would use the shower. The pipes proceeded to scream and hiss making it impossible to sleep past this time. I got to reception and it took about 20 minutes to check in with more computer clicks than I could count. I was told the room had not been paid for and now I need to check my bank to see if I have been charged twice. Breakfast was poor, the "hot" water for the tea was tepid at best, cheap sausages, over cooked bacon and scrambled egg with more milk than egg. The only pleasant member of staff was the cleaner. Won't be going here again and won't use hotels.com to book either!"

"Efficient but not particularly warm welcome. Breakfast is not included so I can’t comment on that. £12 charge to use pool and gym was pretty steep so I can’t comment on that either. Bed was comfortable. Room was pretty soulless and the tea & coffee making facilities were perfunctory- no biscuits or complimentary water. Barman was very good. Probably a good venue for a conference or work event but I wouldn’t rush back"

"We were glad we opted for an upgrade to a room in the Manor House. A lovely room. Breakfast was buffet but plenty of choices and coffee was okay. Service good. We visited the pool and steam and sauna which although obviously in need of a refurbish we still enjoyed. The bar and lounge areas were comfortable. Our only problem, which was quite major for us, was Reception. My husband is disabled and we are both elderly, but when we asked for our bags to be brought down to Reception the Receptionist told us that the staff were all too busy as was she. In the event we left our bags in the room, and delayed our onward journey for an hour to help with our request. Room 2 has steep and shallow stairs that we couldn’t have managed with cases, overall left a very unpleasant taste after an otherwise enjoyable stay. I have asked for the Manager’s email or to get in touch privately but no joy."
