Gorgeous views from every room. Very friendly & welcoming owners. Upgrades of the rooms are planned but already very pleasant & clean. The pool is lovely and includes the views! A hidden gem.

The manager was amazing and he tried being very accomodating which we really appreciate. Unfortunately, for the money payed at this time ($137.50) the place itself was highly disappointing. The room was extremely smelly (musty etc), the place was very outdated, the bed was not comfortable, there was mould on the walls of toilet, there was an issue with the water pressure in the shower and the night light on all night outside the room, which is understandable for safety but then there needs to be a black out curtain or something to block the light out. The view in the morning however was fantastic.

the property is probably overdue for some renovation as it is starting to show its age. however it was clean and comfortable and the owners were attentive to our needs and upgraded us to a more spacious room on arrival. situated out of town ,but within short drive of pahia.

Located on bend in river close to Haruru falls

Motel is right on the bend on the river just after the Haruru falls. Some rooms (1-7) are on a level with the pool and barbecue area - first photo. The upper floor rooms have views over the river and 8-10 have views of the falls from their private balconies.

Room with a view

Small room with all the facilities you expect. Lovely view over the river, and from the pool, down to the falls. Friendly staff. TV doesn't get all the channels you expect, and the shower is warm. Close location to Paihia, Waitangi and the beach front.

Great location with view of Haruru Fals

While somewhat disappointed upon seeing our room, this was a good choice for our three days from Auckland to Cape Reinga, on a good highway just outside Paihua, where decent restaurants were available. Although quite run-down in general, everything was very clean, relaxing swim before dinner in the nice pool where we chatted with several couples.

Good base for getting around.

Our host was very accomodating telling us what we could see and do as tourists. The rooms though could do with an upgrade so the place could match the amazing view. We had a downstairs room that was quiet drafty. I'm sure it would be a great place to stay in summer.

Excellent value

Only stayed one night, but would definitely stay again. Booked the luxury queen room and paid a reasonable rate for a solo traveller on a budget. Room opened out onto the skimming pool (great as it was a very hot day) with Haruru falls in the background. Around 3 miles from Waitangi Treaty Ground, this hotel was a similar distance from some great beaches and there would be more than enough to do for several days here (maybe not a whole week tho). Hotel doesn't offer food, but there are more than enough restraunts and a supermarket nearby to cope.

Great value, Great view, great stay :)

The wife and I chose to stay in haruru falls as a go between on our trip to cape reinga for a couple of nights, a stone throw from the sunny town of pahia and waitangi, it was an awesome stay and one of the highlights of our trip. Peter was a friendly host and gave a great rundown of things to see and do in the area as well as what was happening that weekend, as this was a birthday get away for the wife- it was awesome he recommended a great restaurant that suited our budget, the next morning he was keen to hear how we were going with our trip and was kind enough to take photos of us for us. Very friendly. Peter and his wife even walked us out at the end of our stay and invited us back next time we came up. Fantastic service :)
