Lovely hosts and beautiful views

What a lovely guesthouse. Our host and team were brilliant. The room and views from the premises the beautiful. We had the all the amenities we could have needed. Our room and the premises were both very clean. Breakfast was delicious, and the bar well stocked with lots of options. The pool is also a great size with lovely views and kept well maintained. The team also decorated it prettily for Valentines, with lots of lovely touches like balloons, chocolates and roses - what a lovely treat! We loved our stay and wished we had stayed longer.

Fabulous hillside views of dam

Location was amazing and the view from my room (on the top floor) was breathtaking; Nice hotel decor; Lots of climbing involved as there were 2 flights of stairs and the parking lot was lower down (should be a warning about this); Room was great but servicing of the room was inconsistent; Breakfast was good but, again, service at breakfast was a bit slow.

Stunning views

We came looking for romantic midweek break with views oveerlooking the dam and I can hand on heart say thats exactly what we got.Stirling Manor is situated in the perfect location for stunning views on the dam and surrounding area. Its a short drive to the dam wall and other attractions. Our room had a balcony over looking the pool and we sat out at night with a glass of wine enjoying the view. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the our room was clean, spaciousness and airy, with a huge comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent, and one of the best I have ever had at a b&b. Do yourself a favour and book in for dinner. The chef cooks from scratch and the food is fantastic. Excellent value for money and we have already recommended it to family and friends.

The place looks good and the staff was friendly. The beds were comfortable. But a number of things did not work. We ran a whole bath of coldwater before we were told that the geyser needed to be switched on and then we had wait for it to warm up. OK I was trying to bath early afternoon. There were 2 other things that did not work, but were atteneded to quickly. In general an ok stay - just nothing special

Not 5-star at all

Two night stay, but left after the first night. The property’s condition is not near 5-star. You can see the former glory of the guesthouse, but it is no more. 3-star at best. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and did try their best. No issues there. If we wanted and expected 3-star, there would be no problem.
