Never go here

Didn’t want to give me the room I reserved, took his time checking us in. Took about an hour to get checked in, would only give us one room key. Ice machine was broken, room wasn’t clean, wouldn’t give extra towels and wash clothes, sheets was stained.

Upon arrival, there were four police vehicles with lights flashing at the property! The doors on either side of the hotel were unsecured, where a key should be required to open the doors. There was a lot of sketchy "traffic" in & out of the side door by the pool while my 8-year-old son was swimming between 8:30-9:00 pm. I did not feel safe at all & continuously scanned my surroundings. The rooms were old, musty-smelling, needed massive repairs, & there was mold in the bathroom. The smell made us sick by morning. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!!

If I could give it a negative 5 stars I would. A stench of cigarette smoke hit me as soon as I opened the door despite the no smoking signs everywhere. I reported the smell to the owner and front desk person and they were very nonchalant about my complaint. The room and bathroom was dirty and the backing on curtains was torn. There was no microwave, refrigerator, iron or ironing board available. I had planned to stay overnight for an event. I changed for the event and immediately checked out. This place should be closed permanently!

It could use a good cleaning inside & out. First room was dirty & moldy. Mgr did get us another room. (4th one we viewed that wasn’t dirty & moldy.) We discovered AC wasn’t cooling when we got back from dinner. It was late so my hubby took cover off AC filthy so he cleaned the best he could & it cooled room off nicely. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star room just a clean one. We stayed here last Oct & Nov & it was a nice clean little hotel. It has really gone downhill since then. Which is sad. Hope they put a little elbow grease into it.

Disappointed

The owner’s idea of a clean room is much different than ours. Just because housekeeping went through doesn’t mean the work was done to any degree of excellence. A few observations include stained sheets, clumps of body hair behind the bathroom door, dirty microwave and sink, and a strong smell of chemicals and mildew. We couldn’t even stay one night. Disappointed the pool was out of service and looked as if it had been for a long time. This hotel has good reviews… unless you search by recent (which we didn’t) where many recent guests comment about cleanliness and deferred maintenance.

First off I checked in and paid on the app prior to me arriving and they said their system hadn’t received it even though the money was out of my bank account already. So I unfortunately paid twice. When I got in the room it smelled like cigarette smoke, the smoke detector was pulled out of the ceiling. The bathroom shower curtain was moldy and they still had towels from the previous people that stayed there. The room simply was not clean. Overall it was a lesson of you get what you pay for

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel was filthy and smelled. I bought Clorox wipes and air freshener to clean after they came to clean again. Glass headboard had handprints on it, everything was dusty, faucets had water stains and toothpaste on them, feces on bathroom tile, mold on bottom of window, missing light in bathroom and all rusty. Pool closed for the season, workout area also closed. Breakfast was coffee, toast, cereal. Manager yelled at me because I told him I just wanted a clean room. Other customers at front desk complaining about towels being filthy. Back door card reader was broken so they kept a rock in door all night. My door jiggled and the sliding lock had to be taped closed. This seemed a safety issue also.

The property is pet friendly so the second floor smells like dogs. The air conditioning in the second floor hallway doesn’t work so it was always very muggy. My room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it. The mini fridge wasn’t cleaned and the overall appearance of the room was very outdated. The pictures that they advertise aren’t absolutely not the room you are given. I’ve stayed at another Microtel location and it was the complete opposite of this experience.

The toilet would take forever to flush. The shower head shot water out so forcefully it almost hurt. The hotel shows to have laundry on site, but it was out of service. We were there for a baseball tournament so laundry on site was much needed. Breakfast was limited and horrible. Toast, bland cereal, and oatmeal is all that was offered. The exit/enter doors were not locked and did not need hotel key for access. There were people that appeared to be living outside the hotel and had access to the hallways at all times. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. We will definitely not be returning. The one time I dealt with staff, at check in, was pleasant and she was nice.

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had

Evidently this hotel was bought and is now a locally owned property because the previous positive reviews are definitely not talking about the same hotel. We rented two rooms for 7 people- each with two beds. When we arrived, we were given a room with a single bed. We showed the hotel clerk our reservation- there were only 14 rooms reserved in the whole hotel that night (a staff member told us) but he refused to change the room and said that he had to refund our booking and charge us extra for a different room. Fine. We paid $9 additional and got the second bed. However, in the other room there were only sheets on one bed. HE REFUSED TO GIVE US SHEETS FOR THE OTHER BED. He said he was unauthorized to do so and that we could be refunded and go to a different hotel. We would have, but it was 11:00 at night and our kids were already in pajamas. My husband had to argue with him for half an hour and finally we found the girl we previously talked to and she got us sheets. They both lived in the hotel. It was dirty, the breakfast was not good, the vending machines were full of expired food, and they did not have air conditioners on. It was 85 degrees in our room and didn’t cool down until about 3:00am. When we left, we saw the postal carrier and told her to never stay in that hotel. She said “Oh gosh, the only people who stay in this hotel are drug addicts and prostitutes. I would never.” There’s more I could say, but hopefully this is enough to convince you to NEVER stay here.

The rooms are very dated, stained floors and tubs, rusty towel holders, corners of walls missing, My husband saw roaches on the wall in the eating area. We had a problem with someone staying next to us blaring their tv all night. We were told there were others that also complained. We ended up leaving very early morning. We were told that we would get a comp room today but never heard from anyone . Not a working phone in room and they moved us to a new room their was no phone. I used iron and rust came out on my Easter blouse. Not happy at all and we will never return.
