Resting in Hakodate
Finding the hotel Ekimane involved asking the tourism information centre. They pointed to the name that is now only in Japanese script. But that said it is literally 500m away from the train station exit. So really hard not to find. The place is clean, and friendly. With recommendations made at the start for the onsen. A welcoming place for strangers and foreigners.

Convenient hotel
The hotel is located near to the Hakodate JR station. So it is a very convenient hotel for those who travel using JR. There is a small grocery shop downstairs. Generally the room is very clean. However it is a little cramp for 3 persons with big luggage bags. It will be good if the hotel provides extra pillow. Generally I would recommend this hotel.

Thank you for staying at Hotel EKIMAE this time. It is a convenient hotel close to the station, but I will make an effort to become a hotel that will be appreciated by our customers without being restricted to the location requirements.

good hotel location. just next to the hakodate station there is a convenience store jsut downstairs staff does not speak english but that is fine as we book through expedia, check in and check out is still smooth we book traditional room, it was small but it was a nice experience we will surely stay here again if we come to hakodate

Close to the Station with Reasonable Price
I got a very good deal to stay at this hotel. It's a small hotel with everything I need. The location is very close to the station. And the staffs were very nice. There's a convenience store next to the building. If you have a car, the hotel charges you only 500 yen/ night, which is very convenient. My Japanese-style room for 3 people was pretty big. It's an en-suit room equipped with necessary toiletries. The hotel also made up the room every day. The laundry room has only one washer and one dryer. No one used them when I was there though. One thing that is in my mind is the bath time for the public bath. It's a share bathroom that men and women have to go according to time period set. If I remember correctly, the time for female bath is only 1-1.5 hour a day. The rest is for males. So, be careful with the timing.

Average hotel at a good location.
It is a run of the mill average establishment. Room is small and spartan with the basic essentials.Bar fridge is empty. There are complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Hairdryer and disposable toiletries are available. Wifi is free, but the connectivity is rather poor. I had to approach the front desk a couple of times to address the issue which was promptly resolved. The staff are helpful with their smattering of English. Breakfast is so so.But the location is good. Right next to the Hakodate train station which is the transport hub not just for intercity travel also for intracity bus and tram network. Places of interest are all within walking distance save for Goryokaku Park and Trappestine Chapel.

Average stay. Great location.
Thre location was great for station access. The pajama provided for sleeping had bad odor, and we didn't use it. We had a twin room, and the room size was bigger than Japanese business hotel standard semi-double tiny room. The hotel had a convenience store on the first floor. It made things easier to get snacks and meals.

great location to JR station and just a short 10 mins leisure walk to the hakodate morning market. seicomart is just beside the entrance of the hotel, which makes it convenient for late night snacks. fyi, reception is at 2nd floor. free parkin if you are driving.

Great little hotel close to Hakodate Station
This hotel was a little hard to find at first because the entrance is a little hidden. It's right next to a small convenience store just across from Hakodate Station. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and were patient with me, my broken Japanese, and my translator app. Despite the language barrier they helped me find an onsen that worked for me and my friends. The room was small (as most are in Japan) but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was simple but delicious. I loved that I was a short walk away from the morning market and the buses at Hakodate Station to take me sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a conveniently located hotel for a very fair price.

Wonderful family stay in Hokodate
At first, it was terrible seeing the tiny room for 3 of us, no space at all for luggages. However, we turn out getting the twice big room with much comfort. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is unique style. The location is best which very near the train and bus station, as well as the morning market. There is also one small yet very quite public bath area which is quite enjoyable than room's bath facility. Anywa, very good price deal with benefits of convenient location.

Great location, very close to JR station. The room provides all we need. It's just that when we visited the hotel the air conditioning is not working thus we have to use portable heaters in the room and ventilate in between because the heater need to burn gas. Apart from this, hotel ekimae was excellent for the stay if the aircon is working fine.

Location Location Location - the best in Hakodate
Good solid business-hotel. Onsen on site is very clean and well maintained. Staff spoke limited English but were very keen to assist any enquiries or needs. Room was a fairly good size by Japanese standards and ideal for a single person travelling. Overall very clean and reasonably priced hotel and I will definitely stay there again.

A hidden gem.
This hotel is a gem in Hakodate. Don't be fooled by the hotel's basic appearance from the outside, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The wifi-signal was weak when I was there that day and the front desk staff was apologetic. Really appreciate it that he was upfront with me. 5-7 minutes walk from the JR Hakodate station.
