Highly recommend this company. The staff and food exceptional. Attention to details in all areas. The excursions are carefully selected and they were all amazing. The rooms are beautiful and it was enjoyable to relax on the balcony. I recommend the 2-nights/3-days if you can. We truly got to enjoy Halong Bay to the fullest.

The food is excellent. They served a buffet lunch, sit down dinner and buffet breakfast. The ship is not new but very clean. The ship sailed on the outskirts of the islands and docked where you can still see the city and other cruise ships. Wish the shop went further in where we could see more islands. They stop at the big cave, Tip Top island where you can go to the top to take photos or swim at the beach within an hour. You can kayak into a lagoon which is very beautiful. The staff is wonderful. My kids loved learning to make spring rolls which is the snack before dinner. We thought squid fishing is a gimmick but people actually caught jelly fish. There were a couple of huge jelly fish swim by at night. Tip is not included. Please remember to tip generously as there are around 25 workers in the ship who work very hard to provide the best service.

Amazing Ha Long Bay cruise for vegetarians!

An amazing cruise! A perfect blend of guided activities, relaxation and stuffing our faces with delicious food. The cruise directors did an excellent job keeping things moving and clearly knew their jobs well. Every moment felt perfectly coordinated. Our room was very nice and well equipped and their ability to cater to us vegetarians was a very positive surprise. We would very much consider doing another cruise with Athena!

crucero viejo, decorado para parecer un hotel boutique, hace que se vea mejor de lo que es en realidad. Te cobran todo extra. Lo que más resalta en todo la estadía es el servicio del personal. Un 10 / 10 excelente. La belleza de Ha Long Bay, hace que te olvides de que te cobraron tanto por un barco que no es más que un viejo barco renovado.

Really excellent stay with Athena Cruise. staff were so friendly and attentive. The boat was clean, modern and beautiful. Top quality food with buffet style as well as table service depending on the day in the schedule. My partner doesn’t eat fish and they happily substituted any seafood dishes with meat alternatives for her. Only dampener was the weather, but of course nothing could be done about this, and it didn’t take away from how gorgeous and relaxing the trip was. Our tour Manager - Tim was excellent too - fluent English, and the tours were fab - Athena look to take you to the Caves as the first visitors of the day (so up early) so you miss the masses of people, so it’s totally worth it. Excellent boat and activities - would do again in the summer time.

Stay at Athens Royal Cruise was fantastic! Captain manager Tim and his team were very accommodating, helpful, friendly and professional. Itinerary was well organised and well thought. Food was good. It’s more like modern Vietnamese. Tim and Phillipe were very attentive to my mum’s food request. Generous portion - 6 courses! We were well looked after until the end. Scenery from the room / balcony was just breathtaking although the weather wasn’t the best. I highly recommend you stay for 2 nights, it definitely worths it if you have extra time. Specially thanks to Diem, who made my mum’s stay more joyful with her smile.
