The whole place was amazing. The room I had was a little dated but very clean. The view from ant balcony is picture worthy. Will definitely be going back.
The property was beautiful. Great views , friendly staff, and so peaceful on top of the mountain. We stayed two nights. It was so relaxing. We can't wait to go back.
Seafood buffet on Friday night horrible!
The room needed to be updated. Dark & our view was a rock wall & parking lot.
Not satisfied with the room at all, very outdated.
The lodge was nice with a beautiful view of the lake!
Unfortunately we will not recommend or stay here again.
Arrived on Sunday evening. Restaurant closed. Has some vending machines but little options. Had we known restaurant not open would have eaten before arrived. Not that easy to find room in dark. Staff at front desk not overly helpful. Bar not open in games area. Good gift shop. Lodge itself lovely. Good outdoor seating and views.
My college friend and I "met in the middle" and stayed here for the weekend. We loved our lake view room at the lodge. The view was so wonderful! Everyone was kind and helpful.
We wish there was map that had the property and the hiking trails. We did use both maps, but the hiking map doesn't show where the lodge or front entrance is for reference.
We went to the seafood buffet with a reservation on Friday. The food did not look appealing on the buffet and some of it wasn't good at all- shrimp and grits primarily. The veggies didn't look good but tasted good. We enjoyed the gumbo and the fried shrimp. For the charge, we were disappointed. We would order from the menu next time.
The room was decent. The view was unbelievable. The staff couldn’t answer normal questions. The restaurant was trash. We waited over 2 hours for food. I went back to the room. My family waited. After 1.5 hours the server came out and said they didn’t have a baked potato, so all my mother in law got was a salad and waited over 2 hours! We were one of maybe 5 tables in the whole place so they weren’t busy.
Then the next morning, we went down for breakfast. It says on the sign that they open at 7AM. We were a few minutes early so we play ping pong while we waited. At 7 AM, the staff looked at us like we were crazy for being there. Then they looked at the buffet- there was nothing out! They said “oh, is it time? Ummmm, give us a few minutes- we are going to be opening late today.” Ridiculous!
Everything else was fine. We ate 20 minutes away every time after that.
It has a beautiful view of the lake.
The A/C was very cold.
We had 2 issues but it would not
Affect us from going back.
The carpet had stains and caused our dog to itch. The representative at the front desk states they will be pulling up the carpet. The other issue is with the A/C being too cold. We tried to raise the temperature but it went down. We turned it off as a suggestion and then turned it back on and that seemed to work.
Again, spoke to the front desk and she stated they were having a problem with the cooling unit.
The food in the restaurant was good and the pool was great.
I would recommend staying here.
Beautiful view of the lake! Beds were very comfortable. The property is gorgeous. My concern was the black curly hair in the bathroom sink. (5 to be exact)
Best surprise ever! We enjoyed the outstanding views, the drive up to the lodge and the staff were beyond hospitable with a wonderful southern charm. One of our best vacations ever. We will definitely be back with our family!

Disliked: Staff & service
Property was a little worn. Carpets were stained and mostly smelling. They couldn’t change us to another room even tho they had the space due to booking through Expedia which will never do again. Really no amenities. We traveled to find things to do. Sunset was the best part and view of lake if you went out on the public balcony
Since they Lodge failed to provide Expedia with a discrimination I called the Lodge to find out if the room was lakeside or street view and they said they had no rooms that fit the discrimination of the room I rented that were not lake view, except one that was a handicap/veterans room. I asked twice to make sure. It ended up, upon checking in, that they had no rooms that fit the discrimination with a lake view. So no lake view for someone who only wanted a lake view. I wanted a refund or to pay extra for a lake view but they were sold out of lake view rooms. The Lodge blamed the problem on Expedia and likewise Expedia said they could not refund or exchange rooms without the Lodges approval. In the end I blame the Lodge for not giving me or Expedia the lake view or street view information correctly so I could make my room decision based on correct information.
