The Water Park of America opened in 2006 and has a 10-story-high slide, as well as a wave pool, tube rides and cascade for surfing. Attractions range in intensity and there are big thrill options as well quieter rides for small children. Inside the temperature is kept at a warm 83 F (28 C).
If you are sporty, surf the Cascade Falls FlowRider® or body slide from the 5th, 7th or 10th level. The wave pool is suitable for adults and children of all ages. Many of the rides allow you to chaperone small children, so they don’t miss out on the fun. A good place to start with a family is at the very top. Jump on the Eagles Nest Family Raft Ride and travel down 10 stories.
Grab a tube to float down Lazy River, which passes a few waterfalls and the wave pool. Tubes are in high demand at the park, so hold onto yours if you intend to enjoy more than one tube ride.
Zero-Depth Activity Pool is a play area for smaller kids. Join your children on the slides or find a spot in the seating area and watch them play.
Refuel at Camp Many Point, a dining area that offers alcoholic drinks and food such as pizza, salads and sandwiches. You are not allowed to bring your own food into the park. There is also a gaming arcade if you need a break from water for a while.
Water Park of America is located in Bloomington, close to the Mall of America and the international airport. The ticket price depends on the day, and time of entry and opening times also fluctuate.
