With new restrictions and safety precautions to adhere to, travel looks a bit different nowadays. Here are some useful things to know before you fly off to Great Abaco Island:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as undergoing health assessments.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to adjust your mask for identification purposes.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA officer. Instead, you should place the pass on the reader and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• You are now permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be removed for X-ray scanning.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, put items such as your loose change and phone into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
