"Hotel needs updating… It feels very tired. My room was what looked like an old dilapidated shed in the back of the hotel. Room was as clean as possible… But rug looked ancient, side table was put together with plywood and a white tablecloth. Three very large dining rooms with absolutely nobody in them. Would not recommend staying here."

"My wife and I loved this place. It was very charming and the staff were great. The food was excellent as we had dinner and breakfast. We had the small plates for dinner because the restaurant was booked full but our small plate dishes were excellent. Quite frankly I would have the small plates for dinner rather than a full dinner. I would definitely go back to this place and recommend to friends traveling to Scotland"

"The Station House was in many ways ideal. The room was roomy and well furnished, the access to the extra communal room where we could sit and make tea and coffee and keep fresh milk and food in a fridge was excellent. Two small things let it down. The reception was across the road in the associated hotel. Once in the hotel the notice said the reception was upstairs but there was no obvious reception desk up there. I looked around and went in to the bar and no one was behind the bar. It turned...

"Our room was exceptionally clean and attractive. The modern bathroom had both a bath and walk in shower. The dinners were excellent and used local produce. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Staff were friendly and very attentive."
