Positive: Room was as the picture clean and overlooking the ocean, birds and mangos at your doorstep! Awesome!. As we had babies, the young reception lady was even willing to upgrade us to a bigger family room in the newer building across the road above their Indian restaurant Tandoor. It was much newer and modern and a very modest nice gesture. Thank you! We kept with the sea view. Walking distance to beach, temple and malls. Nice sufficient Breakfast! Nice staff from Bangladesh. Happy people, always smiling! Negative: There is no wifi in the room. Only at the restaurant. Also there is no stove to cook, only microwave.

Just awful!
Looks dirty even though it's supposedly clean, I saw cockroaches within minutes of getting in and the bed was like a rock, the floor would have been just as comfortable. I couldn't find the pool. Avoid this place! You also had to check in at the restaurant across the road and they wouldn't accept payment via card, cash only and their way of converting the cost to Mauritian Rupees was definitely in their favour. Plus they try to charge extra per night.

Pretty Terrible
Rooms are not clean. Plenty of hair from previous guests. Hallways and stairways are unswept and dirty. You check in at the Tandoor Restaurant and the manager there tries to be helpful but he's limited in what he can do because the hotel is so poorly managed. You book one tyoe of room and they may give you a different type because there's no cleaner that day. Seaview rooms are tired and need fresh paint. There was a water leak somewhere in my bathroom that kept the floor all wet. The food at the restaurant is average. The beach is a bit of a walk and not one of Mauritius' better beaches. I left after one night. The price was $62 for a superior room but wasn't worth even half that.

Great place in Grand Bay
We spent two nights at the Oceanic in February. Although the rooms are in serious need of upgrading (generally run down), we found them to be spacious and clean. Bonus is a bath. The staff were great and the breakfast adequate. The location in Grand Bay is good, right in the bay and you can easily walk into the town. the Indian restaurant which is part of the hotel has great food and is a must. This hotel is good value for the money paid. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you're ready for quirky, this is it.
What an odd experience. Be aware there are other hotels in this area (same street) that have similar names. 1 is high-end, 1 is closed and this one. The location is on the same side as the beach and it overlooks the bay. It's not your typical hotel with a lobby. The reception is more like a of a house which is connected to the main house that the owners live in. They are very nice people. Do not book based on the photos. Totally inaccurate. A beautiful pic of a sofa/lounger on the internet actually had laundry hanging on it and was kept in a garage type area in the main house. We adapted to the disappointment. it's located within easy walk to main township.

Das Zimmer,der Balkon alles ist dreckig,voll mit schwarzem Schimmel,unsauber einfach eklig.Am Morgen gibt's dann noch eine kalte Dusche da etwas mit der Warmwasserzufuhr nicht funktioniert und ganz kleine nette Mitbewohner hat man auch noch.Den Besitzer interessiert es nicht.Das ist kein Low-Budget sondern einfach am verrotten!!!

Il prezzo è molto basso però altrettanta bassa è la pulizia, inesistente. Pieno di piccioni e blatte in stanza. Lenzuola sporche non macchie sospette. Assolutamente non consiglio nemmeno per due giorni come abbiamo fatto noi, peccato perché potrebbe avere potenziale la struttura sul mare.

Merinäköala huone minikeittiöllä. Huoneisto kulunut, sänky vaihdettu, hyvä. Näköalan takia valitsin, ja se oli juuri sellainen kuin valokuvissa. Kylpyhuoneessa iso amme ja erillinen suihku. Aamiainen kadun toisella puolella, tuoreita hedelmiä, tuoremehu, kahvi tai tee, vaalea leipä, munakas tai chicken sauce. Yleiset uimarannat kävelymatkan päässä. Rauhallinen sijainti.

Small B&B. Good service, they arranged airport pickup. Very simple breakfast served at the restaurant on the other side of the road. Noise from the road. Cleaning every day. Dirty balcony. Close to Grand Baie. Fine for just a couple of nights.

موقع الفندق مناسب كل ما تريد قريب. طاقم الخدمة بالفندق متعاون. لا يوجد صندوق أمانات في بعض الغرف لكن كان عندهم استعداد لنقل أحد الصناديق إلى الغرفة

Basic appartement. Op het eerste zicht lijkt het goed. Je komt nadien wel wat gebreken tegen van het appartement. Als je geen verwachtingen hebt is het oké. De mensen waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze hebben elke ochtend een vegan ontbijt voor mij klaargemaakt en als er een probleem was deden ze hun best om dit snel op te lossen.

Hotel horrible et très décevant
l hotel ne correspondait pas à l annonce et de plus l hygiène de cet établissement n est pas digne d être proposé. À notre arrivée la montée d escalier était pitoyable. La chambre était sale, j ai retrouvé de nombreuses bouteilles d alcool vide dans la cuisine, ainsi qu'une bouteille d échantillon d'ancien locataire entamée, une bouilloire avec des choses à l interieur. Le frigo n a pas était vidé. Dans la salle d eau une forte odeur était présente, pas de réceptacle pour accueillir la brosse à toilette qui avait bien vécu (caca et pipi bien collé dessus). Des bêtes sont sorties du lit lorsque nous nous sommes assis dessus. Nous n avons pas pu dormir car la chambre donnait sur la route très très passante et sur les voisins de chambre ainsi que sur un toit poubelle, puis des chiens qui ont aboyés toute la nuit. Les meubles sont à moitié cassé. En résumé, cet hotel est une horreur. Je n ai jamais été dans un hotel aussi pitoyable. C est pour cela nous avons préférer quitter cette hotel

Hotellihuone oli tilava, mutta ei kummoinen. Suihkusta tuli vettä vaihtelevasti eli välillä tuli ja väli ei. Huoneessa oli pieni jääkaappi ja ilmastointi toimi moitteettomasti. Aamupala ei ollut kehumisen arvoinen. Kahvi/tee, mehu, munakas, yksi paahtoleipä, croissant, joku suklaapulla, pikku banaani ja pari appelsiinikuutiota. Alakerrassa oli todella hyvä intialainen ravintola. Kävelymatkan päässä oli iso supermarketti.

Hotelli koostuu erillisistä rakennuksista - asuimme ihastuttavassa vanhassa rakennuksessa, joka on remontoitu viehättävästi. Merinäköala, miellyttävä puiden varjostama parveke ja oma rauha. Ilmastointi toimii, vesi kulkee ja melkein aina myös lämmintä. Siisteystaso ulkomaalaisittain ok. Roskia siellä sun täällä ja repsottavia verhoja ... Hotellin ravintola hyvätasoinen intialainen, tosin vertailussa osoittautuu hintavaksi. Henkilökunta on ystävällistä ja toteuttaa toiveet uskomattoman sujuvasti. Hotellin omaistaja on kiinnostunut viihtymisestä - kuten koko henkilökuntakin. Hotellilta on näppärä kävellä keskustaan, vaikka osittain rantaa pitkin, tosin liikenteeseen täytyy tottua, sillä jalkakäytävät puuttuvat pätkittäin. Bussilla pääsee näppärästi nääpurirannalle tai kaupunkiin ja hotellinhenkilökunta kyyditsee mennessään asioilleen. "Ihastuttava röttelöhotelli" omatoimimatkailuun, täällä voi kokea asuvnasa Mauritiuksella ja unohtaa olevansa turisti - ellei halua hotellin aamupalaa, sen voi nauttia myös omalla parvekkeella.

As a frequent user of Hotels.com, I in general value being a customer. I however had a very bad experience with Oceanic Villa Mauritius, where I stayed yesterday The A/C and TV was not working in my room (superior). As a result I moved to another room, which was smaller. The sink, internet and TV in the new room was however not working. The hotel furthermore has a general hygiene problem. It was dirty and full of insects. Note I was not expecting anything more than basic accommodation given the price....still hotel was in a miserable condition.

Nettoyage non fait à notre arrivée,pas d'eau chaude,il faut soi disant laisser couler mais cela ne fonctionne pas (écologie? ) Restauration de l'autre côté de la route !!!! Le prix 46euros la nuitée correspond. Le descriptif ne correspond pas ,ne pas confondre Océanic villa et océan villa (4*)

j ai passé de bonne vacance bien situé
je suis de la reunion je suis allée a maurice pour 7 jours c est la deuxieme fois que je parts j aime grand baie je choisis toujours dans cette ville pres de tout comme moi et mon mari on aime rester tard dehors sur la plage et dans la ville et profiter aussi un peu des restaurants qui se trouvent tout au long de la plage c était de superbe vacance on était tres bien accueilli per les personnels de l hotel a notre arrive au soir on mange aussi a cette hotel c était tres bon
